Raytheon’s Mission Capability Verification Center (MCVC) located on White Sands Missile Range (WSMR), NM is seeking a Systems Engineering Section Lead to join our team. At MCVC we plan and conduct complex integrated field tests, provide system integration and sell-off, and provide operational expertise to a variety of missile and radar programs. The Section Leader will be responsible for a team of engineers managing our Sensors & BMCI group in support of the AN/TPY2 program. This team is responsible for radar and tactical equipment operation, test, and integration at WSMR and abroad. The Section Leader is a dual role position and will require active participation on the MCVC leadership team as well as supporting our programs as a Principal Systems Engineer. The candidate is expected to embrace MCVC goals and initiatives, monitor team dynamics, collaborate with programs and site leadership on staffing, provide employee feedback, mentor employees, develop skills in alignment with MCVC needs, and be actively involved in daily program operations. This position provides an opportunity to improve your skillset by contributing to the development of our workforce. This is an onsite role located at WSMR in White Sands, NM.
What You Will Do
As a Section Leader, you will support the MCVC AN/TPY2 team as a Principal Systems Engineer as well as being the first line functional leader of a team of engineers. This position also plays an integral role as a participating member of the MCVC Leadership Team with additional responsibilities in AS9100 compliance, Safety & Wellness Committees, and various employee engagement events/activities.
Lead a team of engineers in support of radar test activities at WSMR and other test ranges in the United States and abroad
Oversee the direct line management activities for the section including communication, performance management, career development, issue resolution and talent acquisition
Support department and directorate level initiatives
Adhere to and ensure alignment to RTX Values and Behaviors
Work as a technical lead or individual contributor; Section Leader duties account for approximately 10% of the employee’s time
Work in remote/hazardous locations in proximity to energized equipment, radar radiation, and unexploded ordnance environments
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires eight (8) years of prior experience in Systems Engineering and/or System Integration, Verification and Validation
Experience in AN/TPY2 radar support/operations
Experience working in a matrix environment as a lead
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience effectively leading a team
Knowledge of the Performance Development process
Experience in implementing business and program improvements through process improvement methodologies utilizing CORE
Knowledge of Raytheon’s proposal capture process, the development of Basis of Estimates, and program Estimate at Complete (EAC)

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
