Job DescriptionU.S. Bank is seeking a Mainframe Automation Engineer that has extensive experience in mainframe system automation technologies. This individual should be self-motivated and driven to help contribute toward the success of our mainframe technology initiatives. This person will work in a team environment supporting multiple systems in a highly redundant and robust mainframe environment.
Responsibilities Include-Create and Maintain OPS/MVS REXX rules, SSM tables, and programs
-Resolve Automation issues
-Collaborate with other infrastructure, application, and operations areas on their automation needs.
-Provide support during z/OS Upgrades
-Participate in DR recovery and testing
-Work with vendors for system support and problem resolution
-Provide 24X7 on-call support as part of a team rotation
-Ability to learn new automation technologies such as Python, Groovy/Java, and Jenkins Pipelines.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- At least 7 years of experience within a total information technology (IT) environment
- At least 7 years of experience with the design, development and support of technology infrastructure
Preferred Skills/ExperienceExtensive experience in:- Mainframe technologies
- Technical troubleshooting of OPS/MVS issues
- Complex z/OS Sysplex environments
- Automating mainframe tasks across our environment.
Subject matter expert in:- REXX Programming
- OPS/MVS
- IPL and shutdown processing
- Subsystems such as CICS, IMS, JES2, MQ, and DB2
- HMC operations
- JCL
- Knowledge of BMC products.
Location expectationsThis role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $119,765.00 - $140,900.00
