Principal System Administrator, based in Tucson, AZ internally known as PrincipalAnalyst, InformationWorkplaceServicescollaboratewith teams tosupportexciting, critical programs with classified information system capabilities.Successin this role means you candevelop, implement, and maintain secure, cost-efficientenvironmentsacross various classified programs. Program teams rely on yourcollaborationand guidance to define computing requirements andcreateend-to-endsolutionstosolvecomplexIT infrastructure problems.

This position is for 2nd shift and the hours will be 2:00pm to 11:00pm and during this shift, you will also receive an 8% shift differential.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and RedhatEnterpriseLinuxenvironment.
  • Understandingand knowledge of Windows Server internals or Linux fundamentals to include DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods.
  • Working as a team member in afast-pacedtechnologicalenvironment.Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of moderate to high scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems (OS).
  • Understandingof data RAID, data backup uses and technologies. Install and configure software applications requested by end users.
  • Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements.
  • Provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned.
  • Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date.
  • Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours.
  • Travelrequiredas businessneedsdictate to other US Domestic locations, up to 10% per year.
  • This position supports a manufacturing effort that requires the ability to operate in a challenging and dynamic environment where successful quality execution is a key contributor to overall success

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires bachelors degree and minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or a masters degree and minimum of 3 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Must have an active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. Must be able to get access to the program after start. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Must have Window or Linux experience
  • Experience in one of the following: Linux/RHEL administration, Active Directory and Windows Domain administration, MECM, VMware, and recovery enterprise suites.


Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification and an Operating System Certification)
  • Experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF
  • Experience with data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies andsolutions
  • Experience with using Information Technology project lifecyclemanagementprocesses.
  • Experience using VMWare vCenter, vSphere, and ESX and/or other virtual computing methods.
  • Experiencesupportingengineers in software, simulations, and hardware development.
  • Experience with Microsoft WSUS, MECM, and/or Exchange
  • Scripting Experience

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidates work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the companys performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
