  • Manage waiver requests and discrepancy reporting from suppliers.
  • Keep management updated on supplier quality status and risks.
  • Coordinate supplier quality plan implementation across all program phases.

Full Job Description
RELOCATION ASSISTANCE: Relocation assistance may be available CLEARANCE REQUIRED FOR START: No CLEARANCE TYPE: Secret TRAVEL: Yes, 25% of the Time Northrop Grumman is seeking to hire a Principal Supplier Mission Assurance Engineer or a Sr. Supplier Mission Assurance Engineer to join the Supplier Mission Assurance team.  This position will be located in Utah, candidate must live in UT or be willing to relocate to UT. What You'll Get To Do: - This position will require on-site major supplier surveillance. - In this position, the employee will be responsible for the quality of the products provided by the supplier. - Responsible for Supplier Quality risk management develops and implements supplier quality evaluation and control systems. - Assures supplier process and product quality, including contractual, regulatory, and technical compliance. - Interfaces directly with supplier personnel and must be knowledgeable in and capable of assessing both supplier quality and manufacturing processes and procedures. - Conducts product and process verification activities, monitors supplier quality performance, and drives root cause corrective action analysis for supplier quality issues. - Manages supplier requests for waivers, deviations and discrepancy reporting process. - Keeps management apprised of supplier performance, quality status, and risks. - Coordinates and oversees Supplier Quality plan implementation through all program phases. - Actively engages in supplier evaluation, qualification and selection as part of the Business Acquisition Process (BAP) and as new procurements are required on existing programs. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. Basic Qualifications: - Principal Engineer Supplier Quality: Bachelor's of Science degree and 5 or more years of relevant experience; OR Master's degree and 3 or more years of relevant experience; or PhD with 1 years experience. - Sr. Principal Engineer Supplier Quality: Bachelor's of Science degree and 8 or more years of relevant experience; OR Master's degree and 6 or more years of relevant experience; or PhD with 4 years experience. - Experience developing, planning, and/or implementing quality methods and strategies for procured items to assure the design, procurement, acceptance, and use of procured items. - Experience interfacing with suppliers, customers, work associates/teams, and/or management. - Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing/engineering experience - Experience with AS9100/ISO9001 requirements - Must be able to travel up to 25-50% of the time - Must be a US Citizen with an ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance - Must be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs Preferred Qualifications: - Ability to apply problem solving/critical thinking skills to support and resolve issues at the supply base - Demonstrated knowledge of AS9100/ISO9001 requirements and lead auditor experience to these standards. - Demonstrated written and verbal interpersonal and communication skills - Extensive experience working with aerospace/defense industry suppliers onsite. - General experience with special processes - Experience in root cause analysis and corrective action - Six Sigma or Lean certifications Primary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $111,700.00 - $167,500.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
