What You Will Do
  • Work onsite at assigned portfolio of supplier sites to identify, communicate, and train suppliers at all levels of their supply chain including processes to develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality control systems.
  • Ensure maturity and robustness of Supplier's manufacturing and supply chain processes to avoid supply chain disruptions.
  • Drive continuous improvement of Supplier Quality related performances for deliveries of supplied products
  • Monitor and analyze performance through Key Performance Indicators and organizing the surveillance of the suppliers through audits, assessments, recovery plan and mission, CID (Corrective, Improvement, Development) and industrial risks management with internal and external concerned parties
  • Monitor major industrial risks, major changes (industrial transfers, major planning changes) and supporting design changes on an industrial point of view to protect RTX operations
  • Management of Escape Events, NoEs, SRIs, FAIs, LAIs & Deviations/Concessions analysis and validation
  • Perform Gemba walk, PFMEA, CP, MSA, problem solving methodologies
  • Initiate and follow recovery plans with Suppliers in case of delivery performances degradation to ensure deliveries are back to RTX requirements
  • Manage Suppliers' preventive/corrective action plans so achievements are at the expected level in terms of end results.
  • Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, such as IPT leaders, Programs and Assembly Lines. This includes communication, customer / supplier relation & meetings, and improvement actions.
  • May manage moderately sized projects or processes.
  • Typically viewed as subject-matter expert within discipline.
  • Has advanced to expert knowledge of Commodity Forgings and Metallic Raw Materials.
  • Problems faced are difficult and often complex.
  • Minimal oversight from manager.
  • Coaches, reviews, and delegates work to lower level professionals.
  • Influences others regarding policies, practices and procedures.
  • Core responsibilities:
    • Analyzes and makes recommendations for the implementation of supplier qualification / certification, assessment, monitoring, escape management, and quality issue resolution processes.
    • Manages the analysis of quality data and development of part / supplier specific quality issue resolution and corrective actions.
    • Provides research and guidance for root cause analysis & problem solving (Red-X & 8D) in escape management procedures. Develops corrective and / or preventive actions for systemic process and product design problems for product provided by suppliers.
    • Manages processes and procedures for supplier qualification / certification, source inspection and material release processes, and Correction Action Boards / DQ Clinics with suppliers.
    • Drives support for the RTX ZERO program to ensure healthy continuous improvement and sustainability.
    • Reviews processes and metrics to ensure supplier is capable to meet all requirements for work transfer and process change management including Resourcing Gate and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) acceptance.


Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Deep understanding of the business, the context and major challenges to handle internal customers' needs and develop approaches which satisfy their expectations.
  • Experience in an industrial setting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to speak effectively and easily with both internal and external executives and employees.
  • Ability to define and establish appropriate overall performance management that facilitates achievement of business objectives and key deliverables through transparent visualization of status and risks, incorporating elements that also enable indication of future performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish a culture of improvement that exploits, supports and manages improvement opportunities and activities.


Qualifications We Prefer
  • Green Belt/Black Belt certification & CPIM certification (Certified in Production & Inventory Management)
  • Knowledge and expertise of Quality Regulations, Quality Core Tools Knowledge, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Practical Problem Solving, International Mgmt. system standards, Authorities / Regulations / Standards, Knowledge of QMS, Auditing/Assessing, Risk Management / Continuous Improvement (Lean Six Sigma).

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
