This on-site role supports the U.S. President, Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders by enabling planning, monitoring, and dynamic control of missile defense operations. Position Overview C2BMC is a key component of the Missile Defense System, providing integrated command and control across networked sensors and weapons. The BM/SRM Software Engineer will develop and sustainJava-based enterprise applicationsin aLinux environment, supporting real-time battle management and sensor resource allocation. Essential Functions: Design, develop, integrate, and maintainJava-based enterprise applicationson Linux Implement software engineering best practices including coding standards, automated tests, and CI/CD pipelines Perform analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution of complex software issues Assist with design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation of applications and tools Collaborate with system engineering and operations teams to improve performance and reliability Develop automation tools to enhance operations, monitoring, and deployment Participate inagile teams(planning, reviews, retrospectives) and support evolving program needs Basic Qualifications: A Bachelors Degree in software engineering experience and post-secondary education/training in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field from an accredited university, along with 5 years of experience; or Masters Degree in a related field with 3 years of work experience; or 9 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree Strong experience with software development inJava/J2EE, C++/OO, or similar languages Enterprise application development onLinux(Windows desired) Coding standards, automated testing, building pipelines, configuration management Problem-solving, diagnosing performance/operational issues, and implementing solutions Tools such asMaven, Git/GitHub, Nexus, Eclipse or similar IDEs Agiledevelopment methodologies Excellentoral and written communication skillsand ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Applicants must have a current, active in-scope Government-issuedSecretsecurity clearance at the time of application, which is required to start Willingness to travel up to10%for business need Preferred Qualifications: Experience withcommand and control (C2)system application development Experience withsoftware integration and formal system-level testing Experience inDevSecOpsand/or build and deployment management Ability to present complex technical concepts tonon-software audiences, including senior program and military leaders Familiarity withC2BMCor large-scale, real-time distributed systems Demonstratedflexibilityand willingness to take on unanticipated tasks What We Can Offer You: Northrop Grumman provides a comprehensive benefits package and a supportive work environment that encourages your growth, benefiting both employees and the company. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
