This role is a Quality Core Team Member (QCTM) on the Next-Gen Affera Capital program. The role will lead a small team of engineers supporting development and qualification of new products with enhanced signal and power capabilities and technology improvements on an aggressive timeline.

The QCTM role is the voice of the quality organization, supporting the core team leader in driving critical BU strategies, assigned projects, and is accountable for defining the quality strategy and executing the quality deliverables for the project. Initial phases of the program will prioritize First-In Human feasibility study.

Given the electrical design focus of the program, Electrical or Electronics engineering backgrounds are preferred.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develops, coordinates and conducts technical reliability studies and evaluations of engineering design concepts and design of experiments (DOE) constructs.


  • Recommends design or test methods and statistical process control procedures for achieving required levels of product reliability.


  • Completes risk analysis studies of new design and processes.


  • Compiles and analyzes performance reports and process control statistics; investigates and analyzes relevant variables potentially affecting product and processes.


  • Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards.


  • Analyzes preliminary plans and develops reliability engineering programs to achieve company, customer and governmental agency reliability objectives.


  • May develop mathematical models to identify units, batches or processes posing excessive failure risks.


  • As necessary, proposes changes in design or formulation to improve system and/or process reliability.


  • May determine units and/or batches requiring environmental testing, and specifies minimum number of samples to obtain statistically valid data.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience


  • OR Master's degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience


  • OR PhD with 3 years relevant experience


Preferred Qualifications

  • Given the electrical design focus of the program, Electrical or Electronics engineering backgrounds are preferred


  • Product Development or Clinical/Feasibility project engineering experience


  • DV and Risk Management experience


  • Proven experience as a Quality Core Team Member (QCTM)

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$132,000.00 - $198,000.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
