Role overview:Kiva has been around for 20 years, and we are in an exciting period of building for growth, combining technology solutions with tried and true nonprofit tactics to reach the populations we serve.
Kiva is looking for a strategic and collaborative Principal Product Manager to help us reach our growth goals. Product managers at Kiva take extreme ownership and roll up their sleeves to step in where help is needed. We understand our users and prioritize impact first. In this role, you will report to the Head of Product. You will identify and evaluate new product opportunities across our B2C and B2B audiences, starting with the high-net-worth individual audience. You will decide what gets built and why, define what success looks like, and stay accountable for results. We are product builders and stay involved from crafting the strategic vision to speaking with users, creating prototypes, defining requirements, evaluating tradeoffs, and measuring results. You'll work with engineers, designers, marketing, and strategic partnerships, ensuring the team is aligned to execute a shared vision.

Key responsibilities include: - Define and drive the vision for your product area, breaking it into a productive action plan that prioritizes impact, results, and speed of learnings
- Emphasize problem discovery and prioritization- know what the most important thing to solve is before diving into solutions
- Leverage internal and market signals to identify which longer-term bets or new product ideas are likely to succeed. Use frameworks and structured thinking to make decisions, even with incomplete information or ambiguity, where the problem or solution is not clear.
- Lead outcome definition for your product and projects. Define KPIs and success metrics.
- Know your customer, be able to run your own qualitative and quantitative research.
- Build relationships inside and outside the product team to anticipate stakeholder needs, and align leadership and cross-functional partners around your product vision
- Partner with engineering to build and execute solutions at quality commensurate to the risk, help shape GTM for significant releases
- Communicate roadmap, vision, results, and tradeoffs across the organization
- Learn and fail fast - know when to iterate, scale, or stop. Help others do the same
- Be able to communicate ideas and prototype with AI to validate ideas or experiment
Preferred qualifications:- 8-10 years of experience in product management roles, ideally B2C or marketplace, where you have managed a significant product area
- Track record of shipping successful products
- User-centered mindset; empathy for users and instinct for good UX.
- Strong business acumen and a habit of using data to support decisions
- Self-starter and leader. You anticipate second- and third-order effects and decision tradeoffs, and reframe ambiguous or cross-functional problems in ways that reveal better opportunities and align stakeholders around the right problem.
- Nice to have: nonprofit, impact-focused, or philanthropy experience

- Salary range: $162K - $178K; a final offer will be dependent upon a candidate's location, skills, and experience.
