Full Job Description
Job Summary: The Principal Engineering Technician functions as sensor development technician on integrated product teams tasked with the development of image tubes and related night vision sensors. This position requires the ability work on a team that is designing for ultra-high vacuum and high voltage processing. Traditional sensors incorporate an activated semiconductor cathode, micro channel plate (MCP) and a phosphor screen. Sensors must operate for extended periods in rugged military environments.

Responsibilities and Tasks:
  • Understand requirements from the sensor engineers and able to translate them into tests and instructions for the manufacturing environment.
  • Work with manufacturing engineers and other subject matter experts to make designs are manufactured at a reasonable yield.
  • Working with manufacturing to move tubes through the build process.
  • Set up and execute and analyze tests of new tube configurations and/or processes.
  • Supervise or execute measurements of relevant tube parameters.
  • Create and present test data for the engineering team.
  • Participate in peer design reviews for the more complex designs and design approaches.


Education, Experience, License, or Certification:
  • Associates degree in Engineering Technology, equivalent degree, or related work experience; manufacturing engineering support
  • 9+ years of related work experience
  • Must be computer literate
  • Position requires the candidate to be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance


Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong analytical abilities and trouble-shooting techniques.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capable of performing process engineering tasks commensurate with experience.
  • Must be able to comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations, Company Policies and Procedures.
