The Opportunity
We are seeking a talented Principal Engineer to partner closely with our C-Suite on several business-critical initiatives. In this role, you will lead the architecture, design, and deployment for several revenue generating platforms. This is a highly strategic, hands-on leadership opportunity serving as our principal subject matter expert, as well as leading a dedicated engineering team to ensure project success. You will help guide the redesign of existing platforms while incorporating the latest Agentic AI tools so that we can continue to grow.
The Role
The Principal Engineer - OCTO should be well versed in current best practice for AI, data, and marketing performance and be able communicate complex concepts in clear, actionable, business-friendly terms relevant to business operations. This role also affords the opportunity to collaborate and influence our executive leadership as well as stakeholders to balance agility with growth in the competitive life insurance market. This role requires a proven track record of leading cross-team initiatives to design and scale critical revenue generating systems
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
• Serve as the subject-matter expert on marketing, customer acquisition, and retention
• Drive adoption of agentic AI tools, multi cloud architecture and integration with new and existing systems
• Architect, design, build and deploy platforms with improved engineering impacting marketing, data, and AI COE teams in addition to leadership and stakeholders
• Build and lead a team of 3-5 Engineers
Required Qualifications
• Significant professional experience in software engineering and architecture
• Extensive domain expertise in fields such as sales, marketing, AdTech, with an understanding of best practice industry tools
• Significant body of professional experience in InsurTech or related verticals, with the most recent tenures spent in either a staff or principal role
• Understanding financial services regulatory requirements as related to compliance
Preferred Qualifications
• Strong understanding of attribution, analytics, customer data, and funnel measurement
• Hands-on experience applying AI and ML solutions in production environments
• Familiarity with LLMs, generative AI, personalization, segmentation, or predictive optimization
• Strong executive communication and cross-functional leadership skills

California, Washington and New York Only
Compensation for this role is expected to be between $325,000 and $425,000. Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
