We are seeking a Principal Data Scientist with 12+ years of experience to lead the development and deployment of cutting-edge analytics solutions. In this role, you'll tackle our most challenging business problems, drive innovation, and provide technical leadership to our data science organization. You'll have the opportunity to shape the future of our data-driven decision-making and make a significant impact on our company's success.

A day in the life as a Principal Data Scientist...
  • Shapes the strategic direction for advanced analytics across the organization, delivering critical insights, actionable recommendations, and production-ready systems that have a substantial impact on key business outcomes and strategic initiatives
  • Leads the development of highly complex analytical solutions for key business challenges, significantly influencing cross-functional strategies and driving innovation across the organization, and ensuring solutions are scalable, reliable, and maintainable
  • Act as a subject matter expert, providing deep technical guidance and consultation to multiple data scientist teams and senior leadership
  • Provides strong technical leadership and mentorship to data scientists and technical leads across the organization, fostering a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing, while establishing and championing best practices
  • Champion innovation by identifying and integrating cutting-edge technologies and methodologies to solve complex problems and create new opportunities
  • Influences technology direction by shaping the analytics strategy, aligning data science initiatives with overall business objectives and driving long-term value, and identifying opportunities to leverage data science to achieve strategic advantages
  • Leads the analysis and resolution of highly complex and unique data science issues, requiring in-depth evaluation of variable factors, and developing novel approaches to provide expert, strategic guidance and solutions to stakeholders across the organization, including senior executives
  • Drives innovation by exercising independent judgment in the selection and application of cutting-edge methods and techniques, continuously pushing the boundaries of data science and establishing the organization as a leader in the field
  • Collaborate with executive leadership, product management, and other stakeholders to influence product strategy and translate business needs into scalable technical solutions
  • Proactively identify and mitigate major technical risks and ambiguities across projects and systems

  • Outstanding skills in creating compelling and informative data visualizations for executive audiences, with the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner that drives strategic decision-making
  • Extensive knowledge of various data modeling techniques, including advanced methods such as deep learning, Bayesian networks, and causal inference, and the ability to apply them to solve complex problems, selecting the most appropriate technique for a given business challenge
  • Extensive knowledge of statistical methods, including advanced techniques such as Bayesian analysis, causal inference, and time series analysis, and the ability to apply them to draw meaningful conclusions from data, and to design and interpret experiments to validate findings
  • Advanced proficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g., Python, R) and relevant libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Spark), with the ability to develop and optimize complex code for performance and scalability, and to guide development teams in implementing analytical solutions
  • Extensive experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) for processing and analyzing massive datasets, and the ability to design and implement scalable data pipelines and workflows that can handle the demands of enterprise-level applications
  • Extensive experience with cloud-based analytics platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) for scalable data storage, processing, model deployment, and monitoring, leveraging cloud-native services and infrastructure to build and deploy analytical solutions
  • Exceptional communication, influence, and leadership skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
  • Recognized as a thought leader and expert in advanced analytics practices, with a proven ability to mentor and guide other data scientists, establish best practices across the organization, and to represent the organization in external forums and publications

  • Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Operations Research, or a related field. (or equivalent extensive practical experience).
  • PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Information Technology, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Econometrics, or related field is preferred.
