Principal Commercial Analytics & BI Lead

Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid)

Department: Commercial Operations

Reports To: VP, Commercial Operations

Position Summary

Conterra Networks is seeking a Principal Commercial Analytics & BI Lead to serve as the commercial organization's data and performance measurement expert. This highly visible individual contributor role will own the reporting, dashboarding, analytics, KPI governance, and performance insights that drive executive decision-making across Sales, Marketing, Commercial Operations, and Finance.

The ideal candidate combines deep business intelligence expertise with strong commercial acumen and the ability to translate complex data into actionable recommendations. This role will play a critical part in identifying growth opportunities, improving forecasting accuracy, measuring sales effectiveness, and enhancing operational performance.

This is not a people-management role. Instead, success will be measured through influence, analytical leadership, business impact, and the ability to drive data-informed decisions throughout the organization.

What You'll Do

Business Intelligence & Reporting Leadership
  • Design, develop, and maintain executive dashboards and reporting solutions using Power BI, Salesforce, and other business intelligence tools.
  • Build scalable reporting frameworks that provide visibility into sales performance, pipeline health, conversion rates, customer retention, productivity, and commercial effectiveness.
  • Establish reporting standards, documentation, and self-service analytics practices across the organization.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and trustworthiness across reporting environments.


KPI Governance & Data Stewardship
  • Own the definition, maintenance, and governance of commercial KPIs and performance metrics.
  • Partner with business and system owners to resolve reporting discrepancies, data quality issues, and metric alignment challenges.
  • Create and maintain data dictionaries, reporting documentation, and metric definitions.
  • Establish validation processes and quality controls to ensure reporting integrity.


Commercial Performance Analysis
  • Analyze sales, pipeline, customer, market, and campaign data to identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities.
  • Provide insights regarding pipeline progression, revenue forecasting, conversion performance, productivity, and customer retention.
  • Support ongoing commercial review and forecasting processes through actionable analysis and recommendations.
  • Develop performance scorecards and executive-level reporting packages.


Strategic Business Partnership
  • Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Product, and Finance leaders to support strategic initiatives and business decisions.
  • Conduct market opportunity analyses, customer segmentation studies, campaign attribution assessments, and performance diagnostics.
  • Translate complex findings into concise presentations and recommendations for executive leadership.
  • Serve as the trusted analytics advisor for commercial planning and performance management efforts.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Analytics, Finance, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Commercial Analytics, Revenue Operations, Sales Operations, Business Intelligence, or related analytical discipline.
  • Advanced experience developing dashboards and reporting solutions using Power BI.
  • Strong Salesforce reporting and analytics experience.
  • Advanced Excel capabilities including complex formulas, pivot tables, data modeling, and analytical techniques.
  • Experience analyzing sales performance, forecasting, pipeline metrics, conversion trends, customer retention, and revenue drivers.
  • Strong data validation, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting insights to senior leaders.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in telecommunications, technology, fiber, infrastructure, managed services, SaaS, or recurring-revenue environments.
  • SQL experience and familiarity with data modeling concepts.
  • Experience supporting executive leadership and board-level reporting.
  • Knowledge of KPI governance, analytics frameworks, and performance management methodologies.
  • Experience integrating and reconciling data from multiple systems and sources.
