School Principal - Camden High Campus

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Principal is the instructional, organizational, and cultural leader of the school. This vital role translates the Superintendent's vision into daily practice. The Principal will work closely with the Director of School Performance (K-5 / 6-12) and other senior district officials to ensure that students receive outstanding academic and non-instructional support and services in their schools to ensure all school-based staff and students are set up for success. The ideal candidate builds strong community alliances and fosters an environment where teachers thrive and students achieve.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Valid New Jersey Principal Certificate of Eligibility or Standard Certificate (or the equivalent license from another state)
  • At least 3 years of school-based leadership experience as a Principal, Vice Principal, or equivalent school leader role in a High School (preferred) urban turnaround school setting
  • Demonstrated success dramatically improving student achievement in low-performing schools, and a track record of making data-driven decisions grounded in the use of staff performance and student achievement data
  • At least 5 years of successful teaching experience in a PreK-12 setting with demonstrated student achievement gains
  • History of effectively coaching both new and experienced teachers towards improving their ability to deliver outstanding instruction
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups and effectively communicate, both orally and in writing
  • A valid driver's license as well as current insurance and vehicle with valid registration
  • Required criminal history background check, physical and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal right to work in the U.S.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Certification in Administration and Supervision or Educational Leadership (with Master's Degree)
  • Advanced degree in Educational Leadership nor Administration and Supervision
  • Prior leadership experience in Middle or High School in an urban turnaround school environment
  • Specialized background and training in STEM experience leadership
  • Proven track record of raising student achievement in high-poverty or turnaround schools
  • Documented success mentoring teachers to improve instructional quality

Performance shall be evaluated annually in accordance with Board policy, administrative regulations, and district leadership procedures.

Work Year: Twelve (12) Months

Classification: Affiliated/Principal/Administrator - CCPSA

Minimum Starting Salary: $100,000.00

Maximum Starting Salary: $198,504.00
