Remuneration: To be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, qualifications, certifications, competencies and other relevant criteria.

Missions/Main Duties

As the Principal Bridge Technician, you are responsible for managing and overseeing the production of all engineering drawings, and overseeing the production of 3D models. You will ensure that all design outputs meet technical standards, project requirements, and client specifications. This senior role involves supervising and mentoring technician staff, coordinating drawing production across multiple projects, and driving CAD best practices and innovation within the team.
  • Lead the coordination and execution of all CAD activities for major bridge design and construction projects.
  • Lead the coordination for CAD production with partners and subconsultants.
  • Supervise, mentor, and provide technical guidance to CAD technicians within the team.
  • Oversee the quality, accuracy, and consistency of all drawing deliverables and 3D models, ensuring they conform to SYSTRA IBT's standards and procedures as well as client and industry requirements.
  • Liaise closely with engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of design data.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain CAD standards, protocols, and workflows; proactively recommend software or process updates.
  • Manage drawing schedules, resource allocation, and workload balancing to meet project deadlines.
  • Conduct regular drawing reviews and quality assurance checks.
  • Lead training initiatives and promote continuous professional development for CAD personnel.
  • Represent the CAD discipline in project meetings and reviews, contributing technical expertise and solutions.
  • Carry out additional duties as required to support project and team success

Profile/Skills

Education: A college degree in civil engineering or a related field. Advanced CAD-related training or certifications strongly preferred.

Years of experience: Typically 15+ years' progressive experience in CAD design within bridge or structural engineering, including demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.

Technical competencies:
  • Advanced proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD ou MicroStation) and 3D modeling software (Revit or Tekla).
  • Deep understanding of bridge/structural CAD standards and multidisciplinary design integration.
  • Strong understanding of bridge or structural drawing standards.
  • Ability to manage, deliver and progress tracking of complex drawing packages.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and construction methods.
  • Knowledge of technical standards and specifications in bridge design.
