Principal Associate, Communications - PULSE NetDocs Team
Join the PULSE NetDocs team, a critical unit within the Operations organization focused on the end-to-end lifecycle of documentation, release communications, and partner engagement for the PULSE Network. This role is grounded in technical precision and strategic communication—combining content management, release orchestration, and rigorous governance to ensure our network partners receive accurate, timely information.
The individual in this role will have proven experience in network releases, technical documentation, or complex communications. You will demonstrate a track record of managing end-to-end document lifecycles, influencing business partners through structured governance, and executing communication tactics with high attention to detail. This role operates with autonomy, proactively working across team structures, including product SMEs, legal, and risk, to deliver bi-annual releases, monthly participant notifications, network bulletins, and emergency communications.
The candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills, advanced project and change management skills, and a demonstrated ability to navigate Jira-based workflows and authoring software.
Responsibilities:
Release Orchestration: Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of partner-facing documentation and communications, including bi-annual network releases, monthly OnPoint publications, and emergency alerts.
Governance & Validation: Maintain rigorous quality control standards by executing pre- and post-publication validation of all documentation and communication. Ensure all messaging aligns with established team procedures, controls, and risk frameworks.
Intake & Workflow Management: Utilize Jira to manage request intake, groom user stories, and ensure alignment across initiatives and policies. Participate in team and stakeholder discussions to ensure clear expectations and "Definition of Ready" for document revisions.
Content & System Management: Maintain the integrity of our document repositories and manage content publication across internal and external portals, ensuring brand consistency and accuracy.
Strategic Collaboration: Serve as a thought partner to internal SMEs and communicate proactively with stakeholders to ensure all messaging tells a compelling, accurate story regarding business priorities and participant requirements.
Compliance & Audit: Support internal audit requirements by providing evidence for process builds, maintaining procedure documentation, and executing control testing to support the broader NetDocs operational framework.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or military experience.
At least 3 years of experience in communications, technical writing, release management, or project operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, English, or Journalism.
4+ years of experience in documentation lifecycle management, release communications, or financial services operations.
Experience using project management tools (Jira) and document repository management (Google Workspace, SharePoint).
Experience with Adobe Framemaker.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
Houston, TX: $98,900 - $112,900 for Principal Communications AssocMcLean, VA: $108,900 - $124,300 for Principal Communications Assoc
Richmond, VA: $98,900 - $112,900 for Principal Communications Assoc
Riverwoods, IL: $98,900 - $112,900 for Principal Communications Assoc
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
