Principal Analyst, Revenue and Commission Operations (Hybrid)

Capital One Travel is seeking a Principal Analyst to join our Finance Operations Revenue Management team. In this role, you will lead efforts to mitigate payment risks, manage multi-channel collections, and drive process improvements across our hotel, rental, and flight portfolios. 

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and leadership skills to monitor health metrics, maintain resilient procedures, and collaborate cross-functionally to advance our payment infrastructure toward a future-state model.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the daily operations of commission invoices across the Capital One Travel business

  • Investigate discrepancies between paid invoice amounts and amounts invoiced

  • Collect and review supplier receivables reconciliation for completeness and accuracy

  • Proactively and independently identify, investigate, and drive solutions for process, data quality inefficiencies  and control enhancements.

  • Liaise with Agency stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate submission of invoices

  • Review contracts with Capital One Travel partners to set up billing processes

  • Reduce operational exceptions and drive efficiencies via automation, elimination, and transfer of processes away from manual touchpoints

  • Work with leadership to create and maintain resilient and scalable collections processes

  • Generate reporting on key performance indicators such as Days Sales Outstanding, Bad Debt, Accounts Receivable Aging, etc

  • Support risk management activities over enhanced control environment, including procedures maintenance, control testing, and process-level assessments

  • Coordinate with Capital One Travel Risk Management, Finance Risk Management and other risk offices on best revenue practices across Enterprise

  • Partner with Finance, Operations, Product, and Business teams to streamline processes and resolve issues impacting supplier receipts

  • Lead ad-hoc projects as necessary, such as developing and leading new Finance- managed services or other initiatives

  • Leadership: Influence and steer execution to shift workflows from reactive to proactive, ensuring resilient and scalable financial processes.

  • Creativity: Identify areas of opportunity in the AR process and remediate these in a timely manner

  • Innovation: Familiarity with large datasets to drive automated solutions increasing efficiency and productivity. 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in Accounting, Audit, Risk Management or Finance or a combination

  • At least 1 year of experience utilizing SQL


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a quantitative field

  • 2+ years of experience in an analytical position investigating complex data issues and building scalable solutions. 

  • Prior experience in Accounts Receivable 

  • Strong written and communication skills

  • Experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) based accounting system

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and experience with multinational entities, multi-currency transactions, and intercompany flows.

  • Experience with Coupa, Coupa Pay, or similar procurement system 

  • Previous experience working within the travel or technology industry

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $120,800 - $137,900 for Principal Associate, AccountingNew York, NY: $131,800 - $150,500 for Principal Associate, Accounting

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
