Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Principal Accountant to join our team! In this role you will get to complete difficult and complex accounting assignments requiring specialized accounting training and experience.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Audits accounts and other financial information for completeness, accuracy and legitimacy of charges, and conformance with accounting procedures.
  • Generates and analyzes nonstandard financial reports, making recommendations regarding status of reserves and assets.
  • Closes the general ledger for each period, prepares financial statements, and completes a detailed analysis of account balances.
  • Prepares cash flow projections, and projects the effects of proposed capital investments on revenue and/or cash flow.
  • Analyzes the effects of transactions on account relationships.
  • Develops and recommends revisions to accounting systems and accounting procedures in conformance with accepted accounting principles.
  • Refines account structures and reports. Collaborates with information systems personnel to develop or modify systems applications.
  • Prepares complex tax returns, nonstandard financial reports, or other reports for government agencies, clients, or senior management.
  • Actively participates in the company Quality Improvement Process (QIP).
  • Travels to remote field sites to conduct audits or to assist field personnel in the execution of their duties.
  • Provides guidance to lower-level Accountants and Accounting support personnel.
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.


What Required Skills You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Economics, Business (or equivalent) and typically 5+ years of related work experience.
  • Knowledge of accounting techniques and principles.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in PC software packages typically associated with accounting.
  • Potential to perform in a lead capacity is also required.

Salary Range: $74,800.00 - $130,900.00
