ResponsibilitiesAt Newport Healthcare, we are dedicated to transforming lives through integrative and holistic mental health treatment. We are currently seeking a passionate and skilled Primary Therapist to join our team!

 

Role Overview:

As a Primary Therapist, you will play a crucial role within our clinical team, providing meaningful therapy that makes a real difference in the lives of our clients. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Therapeutic Facilitation: Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions using Newport Healthcare’s unique clinical model and the principles of Attachment-Based Family Therapy.

  • Family Liaison: Act as the primary clinical contact for families, ensuring clear and proactive communication throughout the treatment process to enhance family involvement and support.

  • Family Orientation Coordination: Lead Family Orientations, Welcome Presentations, and Family Support Groups to create a structured and supportive environment for families navigating the treatment process.

  • Comprehensive Assessment: Perform risk assessments and develop safety plans upon admission, followed by thorough biopsychosocial assessments and treatment plans, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.

  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the treatment team to establish and monitor treatment goals, participating in regular 30-day treatment plan reviews to ensure alignment and progress.

  • Documentation Management: Maintain precise and up-to-date clinical records, including assessments, progress notes, and discharge summaries, in accordance with organizational standards.

  • Crisis Intervention: Conduct risk or crisis assessments and implement appropriate interventions to manage acute situations effectively.

  • Team Engagement: Participate in weekly treatment team meetings, staff gatherings, and clinical supervision to promote a collaborative and supportive team environment.

  • Organizational Representation: Represent Newport Healthcare at professional meetings, trainings, and conferences, advocating for our mission and clinical practices within the broader community.

Qualifications

 

  • Master’s Degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field or enrollment in Doctorate program from an accredited or state approved graduate school required
  • Board registered (LMHCA, LICSWA, AMFT) or Psychologic Associate in the state in which services are provided required. Licensed Highly Preferred. 
  • Experience with individual, family, and/or group therapy with young adults/adolescents.
  • Experience with mental health, substance abuse, eating disorders, or trauma-informed treatment preferred.

Free training/certification offered in EMDR, ABFT, CBT & DBT!

 

Compensation for this role ranges from $35.58-$51.21 per hour depending on education and experience.
