Position SummaryThe successful candidate will provide high-quality companion animal primary care while contributing to the continued development of a modern academic clinical service. Initial responsibilities will focus primarily on patient care, service development, and hospital operations.
As our DVM program matures, this position will naturally evolve to include clinical teaching, with anticipated student participation beginning in approximately two years. Previous academic experience is welcome but not required. We are seeking clinicians with excellent medical skills, strong communication, adaptability, and a passion for collaborative practice.

Key Responsibilities- Deliver exceptional preventive, diagnostic, medical, and surgical care for companion animal patients
- Perform routine soft-tissue surgery and dentistry
- Collaborate with specialty and emergency clinicians to provide comprehensive patient care
- Develop and refine clinical protocols, standard operating procedures, and workflow processes
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and service development
- Prepare for future clinical teaching and mentorship of veterinary students
- Engage in scholarly activity or clinical research consistent with individual interests
- Contribute positively to a collaborative and supportive hospital culture
Required Qualifications- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree
- Minimum of five (5) years of companion animal primary care experience
- Eligibility for veterinary licensure in New Jersey
- Demonstrated proficiency in preventive medicine, diagnostic evaluation, routine soft-tissue surgery, dentistry, and client communication
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
- Adaptability, initiative, and enthusiasm for helping build a growing academic clinical service
Preferred Qualifications- Interest in spectrum-of-care medicine
- Interest in or pursuit of American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP) certification
- Interest in clinical research or scholarly activity
- Previous teaching, mentoring, or academic experience
- Experience developing clinical systems, protocols, or quality improvement initiatives
Salary and BenefitsIn accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Act, the anticipated salary range for this position is
$110,000-$150,000 annually, commensurate with qualifications, experience, clinical expertise, academic rank, and appointment track. Final salary will be determined at the time of offer.

open-rank faculty appointment (Instructor through Full Professor) available on either the
Clinical Track or
