Call/Weekends: No Weekends. Call - all APPs and Physicians take 1 week of call per year. There are more than 52 total providers, so there may be a time when a provider does not take call in a year; it is not expected of a provider until after 6 months of working.
Position Overview:Henry Ford Health is seeking a
full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our established
Primary Care team at Townsend Medical Center in Jackson, Michigan. This is an excellent opportunity to care for
patients of all ages while managing your own panel with strong physician collaboration and support.
Once fully established, providers typically see
18-21 patients per day, providing preventive care, chronic disease management, annual wellness visits, well-child exams, sports physicals, pre-operative evaluations, hospital follow-ups, and minor office procedures.
You'll practice at the
top of your license with a high level of autonomy in a collaborative, high-performing office serving more than
16,000 patients. The practice offers exceptional provider retention, a robust onboarding program, opportunities for professional growth, and a strong focus on quality outcomes and patient satisfaction.
Qualifications:- Must be licensed to see patients of all ages (birth to death)
- Certified NP / PA with active MI licensure
- Active DEA with Controlled Substance License (CSL)
- BLS Certification
- 2 + years' experience in Primary Care.
Education & Training•
Nurse Practitioner (NP): Completion of a Nurse Practitioner program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC)

Physician Assistant (PA): Completion of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA)
Licensure•
Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant in the State of Michigan, or in the process of applying (proof of application required)
Certification•
NP: National certification by a certification body recognized by the State of Michigan (e.g., ANCC, AANP)

PA: Certification by the
National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)Required Certifications- Basic Life Support (BLS) - required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - required (may be obtained after hire)
DEA / Controlled Substance Licensure- PA: DEA and Michigan Controlled Substance License (CSL) required through credentialing
- NP: DEA registration required through credentialing; NPs do not hold a Michigan CSL and will use their Michigan license number during the application process
