Job Overview

The Product Pricing Analyst drives revenue growth and margin expansion through data-driven pricing strategies. This role operates with a high degree of autonomy, owning pricing decisions and actions that directly impact business performance. Partnering closely with Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, and Business Unit leadership, this position actively leads initiatives to improve price realization, increase win rates, and strengthen competitive positioning.

In this role, you will own and execute pricing strategies for your product lines, leveraging comprehensive market research and customer insights to understand industry trends, competitor pricing, and customer behavior. Using this knowledge, you will optimize pricing decisions and maximize profitability through a deep understanding of commercial dynamics. You will proactively identify opportunities, develop appropriate price levels, and drive both short-term results and long-term value through decisive, strategic leadership.

A Day In The Life

Pricing Strategy & Execution
  • Develop and execute pricing strategies for assigned product lines or markets to maximize revenue and profitability
  • Decide appropriate product price levels by balancing Business Unit sales, margins, and competitive positioning
  • Monitor market conditions, competitive activity, and customer behavior to inform pricing decisions
  • Evaluate pricing strategy performance, identifying risks and opportunities and adjusting as needed

Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Partner with Sales, Engineering, Marketing, Finance, and Business Unit stakeholders to develop competitive, data-driven pricing solutions
  • Collaborate across teams to gather insights, align pricing with value propositions, and support go-to-market strategies
  • Serve as a point of contact for pricing-related questions, issue resolution, and strategic input

Quote Management & Operational Excellence
  • Determine pricing for customer quotations within scope, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and profitability
  • Balance responsiveness with disciplined pricing practices to support commercial success
  • Proactively identify opportunities to strengthen competitive positioning and long-term profitability

Analytics & Continuous Improvement
  • Analyze pricing data, sales metrics, and market trends to ensure pricing decisions are aligned with business and market conditions
  • Monitor performance metrics such as margin, price realization, and win rates; recommend adjustments based on results
  • Prepare and present key pricing reports and insights to Business Unit management
  • Support and drive improvements in pricing tools, reporting capabilities, and processes
  • Stay informed on market dynamics, industry trends, competitive activity, and regulatory changes impacting pricing decisions

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to work with large datasets and make data-driven pricing decisions
  • Demonstrated ability to develop pricing using inputs from multiple functional areas and diverse data sources
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, lookup functions, advanced formulas, basic modeling)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, consistently meet critical deadlines, and deliver accurate results
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex pricing concepts and influence cross-functional stakeholders
  • Familiarity with pricing methodologies such as value-based pricing, cost modeling, and elasticity analysis

Preferred
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP)
