About the Job

Key Responsibilities

Reinsurance Pricing & Assumption Development

Build and execute pricing models for individual life reinsurance in alignment with profitability targets. Analyze data, assess risk, interpret results, and develop recommendations. Ensure actuarial soundness and compliance with internal governance and approval processes.

Client & Deal Support

Collaborate closely with client managers and clients to develop tailored solutions. Maintain a deep understanding of client products, experience data, and strategic goals. Contribute to client strategy and support deal execution with timely, high-quality deliverables.

Documentation & Governance

Clearly document pricing analyses to ensure transparency and reproducibility. Meet or exceed service level expectations, including quote turnaround times and client deadlines.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Act as a proactive member of cross-functional teams. Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory developments, and client-specific dynamics to identify and pursue revenue-generating opportunities.

As a Pricing Actuary, you will play a key role in delivering innovative solutions and driving long-term value for a diverse set of US life insurance clients.

About You
  • Associate or Fellow of a recognized actuarial body (e.g., Society of Actuaries, Institute of Actuaries of India, Institute and Faculty of Actuaries), with 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of actuarial models and business processes, with the ability to evaluate model accuracy and uncertainty.
  • Proven ability to synthesize analytical results into actionable insights and communicate them effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Sound business judgment and decision-making skills, especially in situations involving ambiguity or limited data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams.


The estimated base salary range for this position is $139,000 to $244,000. The specific salary offered for this, or any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget. At Swiss Re, we take a "total compensation approach" when making compensation decisions. This means that we consider all components of compensation in their totality (such as base pay, short-and long-term incentives, and benefits offered), in setting individual compensation.
