Qualifications

• 5-10 years of estimating or field experience, preferably in construction
• Experience with Hard Bid Municipal Commercial Projects
• Strong understanding of construction terminology
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel; knowledge of MC2 is preferred
• Valid Driver's License required for commuting to job sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead the estimating group during design phase cost estimates
• Read and interpret drawings, geo-tech reports, and specifications
• Identify utility conflicts and bypass areas for projects
• Perform quantity take-offs for pipes, appurtenances, concrete, and sitework
• Solicit participation from subcontractors and suppliers via phone and email
• Write RFIs to engineers for clarification
• Develop project RFQs and RFPs, establishing a project database for proposals
