Position Highlights:
Job Type: Pre-Op PACU RN
Location: Community Hospital
Responsibilities:
Acts as patient advocate throughout perioperative stay
Maintaining standards of professional care in accordance with American Society of Peri-anesthesia Nurses (ASPAN) standards
Explaining procedures/treatment/discharge to patient and family members to alleviate apprehension and to verify understanding of procedure/discharge
Initiating/maintaining isolation precautions as appropriate for safety of patient, staff and visitors
Providing for the emotional/physical comfort and safety of patients and visitors
Responding to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures and protocols
Collaborating with perioperative team, anesthesiologist and surgeon for continuum of patient care and discharge
Providing individualized discharge education and teaching as appropriate
Giving a patient report for transfer of care that includes assessment, safety issues etc.
Requirements:
RN License
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
BLS from American Red Cross or American Heart Association with at least 3 months left before expiration is required upon hire
Compensation:
The anticipated compensation range for this position is $38.00 - $43.70 per hour, commensurate with qualifications, education, experience, and other applicable factors. This position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Bonus: $20,000 (for RN's with 2 or more years experience)
Additional compensation may be available in the form of discretionary incentive or other compensation programs. Any such additional compensation is not guaranteed and is determined at the sole discretion of the organization based on applicable program terms, individual and/or organizational performance, and other eligibility requirements.
