Procopio is seeking an Intellectual Property Practice Team Coordinator to join our Intellectual Property team in any of our California offices. This is a hybrid remote position requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office; however, we will consider fully remote candidates with exceptional qualifications. The Practice Team Coordinator (PTC) provides executive-level support to designated IP Practice Teams while maintaining an active patent prosecution practice. This role serves as a key liaison between attorneys, staff, clients, and foreign associates, helping ensure the efficient delivery of exceptional client service.
Responsibilities include managing client relationships, coordinating billing and new matter openings, monitoring deadlines and workflows, overseeing work distribution, and serving as the IP subject matter expert for assigned Practice Teams. The PTC also partners with the Senior Manager of IP Operations to support training, onboarding, documentation, and process improvements. In addition, this position maintains a small prosecution docket, including preparing and filing U.S. and PCT patent applications, coordinating foreign filings, reviewing USPTO and WIPO correspondence, participating in quality control, and maintaining electronic records.
The ideal candidate is an experienced IP professional with exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Candidates must be detail-oriented, able to manage competing priorities, and comfortable working independently while collaborating with attorneys, staff, and clients.
Qualified candidates should have a bachelor's degree and paralegal certificate (or equivalent), at least five years of legal support experience, including five years of recent U.S. intellectual property prosecution experience. Strong Microsoft Office skills and experience with USPTO systems are required. Experience with FoundationIP and other IP legal software is preferred.
Procopio offers generous total compensation packages. Typical pay range is from $96,900 - $110,000+, depending on experience.
