Job Summary
The Duke Health Virtual Care Center supports a broad portfolio of virtual specialty clinics and innovative care delivery programs designed to improve patient access and enhance the care experience. Operating at the intersection of clinical operations, digital health, and care transformation, the department partners with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing, technology, and operational leaders across Duke Health to develop and support virtual care services. The team focuses on optimizing virtual clinic operations, digital workflows, and technology-enabled care models while advancing Duke Health's vision for accessible, high-quality patient care. This system-level department works across multiple specialties and service lines, helping shape the future of healthcare delivery through innovation and collaboration.

Work Performed
The Practice Administrator provides strategic, operational, and financial leadership for multiple ambulatory clinic locations within an assigned service area. Clinics under the Practice Administrator's leadership meet defined criteria for scope based on FTE count, patient volume, clinical complexity, and operational footprint. The Practice Administrator ensures high-quality patient care, financial sustainability, and operational efficiency across all assigned locations. This role partners with physician and advanced practice provider leadership, Nurse Managers, Clinic Managers, and the Ambulatory Operations Director to drive service line performance and align operations with DUHS goals, regulatory standards, and patient experience expectations.

Strong leadership and strategic management skills in a multi-site environment. Comprehensive knowledge of ambulatory operations, financial management, and regulatory compliance. Ability to lead through influence and foster collaboration across multiple disciplines. Proven skills in budget development, performance improvement, and change management. Strong analytical and decision-making abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, nursing, business, or relatedfield required. Master's degree in healthcare administration, nursing, business, or related field preferred.
Experience
Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in ambulatory or hospital operations, with at least two years in a leadership role managing multiple clinic or departmental locations. Experience in ambulatory or outpatient clinic operations preferred.
