Role Summary
Revamp is seeking a Power Systems Engineer III to lead studies that help utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage systems (BESS) connect safely and reliably to the grid. You will apply sound engineering judgment to complex technical questions, clearly communicate trade-offs, and help partners make confident decisions that advance real projects and a cleaner energy future. At this level, you will independently lead multiple projects or significant portions of complex assignments, own defined scope, schedule, and budget commitments, and represent the work in client and project meetings. You will receive guidance when necessary on unconventional or complex problems while directing and mentoring less-experienced engineers. The role is purpose-built, impact-driven, and grounded in transparent collaboration.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Perform and lead system studies including but not limited to protective device coordination and the following explorations: short circuit, arc flash, load flows, ampacity, grounding, harmonic, and power quality.
  • Design collection systems, including cable routing and cable sizing.
  • Create equipment specifications for and apply knowledge of renewable energy systems including PV solar modules, inverters, battery energy storage systems (BESS), transformers, cable management systems, and balance-of-system (BOS).
  • Write reports and make presentations describing studies performed, solutions developed, and value obtained.
  • Ensure compliance with company, industry, trade, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, codes.
  • Lead multiple projects of varying complexity.
  • Evaluate, select, and apply standard procedures, and criteria.
  • Prepare project documentation.
  • Support client interaction for multiple projects.
  • Assign tasks to and direct less experienced team members to complete assignments.
  • Assist with proposals to provide professional services.
  • Provide mentoring for staff engineers.
  • Attend project meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering assignments with high proficiency and confidence.
  • Receives guidance, when necessary, on unconventional or complex problems, direction on modified techniques, and new approaches on assignments with conflicting criteria.
  • Receives a review of completed work for application of sound professional judgment.
  • Perform essential duties including meeting deliverables and deadlines.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or directed.
Experience, Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree or greater in Electrical Engineering or similar.
  • EIT Certificate or PE Licensure is desirable.
  • 5+ years of experience in power systems analysis.
  • Advanced knowledge of power systems analysis software tools such as ETAP, CDEGS, CYMCAP, PSS/E, PSLF or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of power distribution, transmission, solar PV systems or energy storage systems is desirable.
  • Experience applying Python or similar programming languages for process automation is desirable.
  • Experience working with different vendor provided dynamic models is preferred.
  • Ability to identify and solve complex problems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to be both creative and analytical.
  • Detail-oriented and accurate.
  • Efficient time management - handle multiple projects simultaneously and with minimal supervision including prioritizing, organizing, and planning effectively to meet all deadlines.
