  • Perform high-level bulk power system impact studies like Steady State, Short Circuit, and Dynamic Stability
  • Utilize various power system software for analysis and simulations

  • Engage with clients to gather feedback and address project needs
  • Lead and mentor electrical engineers in power system analyses
  • Conduct specialized studies of the power grid, including Sub-synchronous Resonance
  • Develop plans to mitigate system constraints and issues
  • Review and refine transmission planning methodologies and processes
  • Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency
  • Support business development initiatives.

Overview

Develop and conduct computer modeling and analysis for transmissionplanning studieswhich include steady state analysis, short circuit analysis, and dynamic stability analysis.Studies may include near-term and long-term transmission planning, generator interconnection studies, reliability-driven transmission project alternatives development, and NERC standards compliance analyses.

Responsibilities

Howyou can make an impact:

  • Perform high-level bulk power system impact studies such as Steady State, Short Circuit, and Dynamic Stability
  • Utilize various power system software such as PSS/E, PSCAD, ASPEN, and TARA.
  • Ensure timely completionof assigned projects while meeting all quality and budget objectives.
  • Interact with clientsto seek input and address their needs and concerns regarding the project(s) under study.
  • Lead and mentorelectrical engineers in performing power system steady state, short circuit, and dynamic & transient stability analyses.
  • Conduct advanced and specialized studiesof the power grid, such as Sub-synchronous Resonance studies.
  • Develop mitigation plansfor identified constraints and system issues.
  • Review and develop transmission planning study methodologiesand processes.
  • Lead process improvement effortsto enhance efficiency.
  • Support business development activities.
Qualifications

  • Experience automating/programming in Python preferred.
  • Experience leveraging AI and automation tools responsibly to improve quality, productivity and innovation

  • Proven team player with the ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal, particularly with respect to explaining technical matters.
  • Flexible with the ability to manage change and capable of managing multiple tasks.
  • Have high standards in producing quality reports and products that he/she shall own with pride.
  • Strong technical report writing skills.
