Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Develop and conduct computer modeling and analysis for transmission planning studies
  • Perform power system impact studies including Steady State, Short Circuit, and Dynamic Stability
  • Conduct NERC-compliance-related technical analyses such as TPL-001-4 Annual Planning Assessments
  • Execute full generator interconnection studies including Sub-Synchronous Resonance (SSR) studies
  • Ensure renewable/storage resource projects meet Voltage Ride-Through (VRT) requirements
  • Prepare technical study reports for all studies performed
  • Maintain data required for all studies and ensure timely project completion

Responsibilities

Join us in leading thechange!

Develop and conduct computer modeling and analysis for transmissionplanning studieswhich include steady state analysis, short circuit analysis, and dynamic stability analysis.Studies may include near-term and long-term transmission planning, generator interconnection studies, reliability-driven transmission project alternatives development, and NERC standards compliance analyses.

Howyou can make an impact:

  • Perform power system impact studies: SteadyState, Short Circuit,andDynamicStability
  • Perform NERC-compliance-relatedtechnical analysessuch as TPL-001-4 Annual Planning Assessments.
  • Perform full generator interconnection studies which may also include Sub-Synchronous Resonance (SSR) studies.
  • Ensure thatrenewable and/or storage resource projects interconnecting to the transmission systemmeet VoltageRide-Through (VRT)requirements.
  • Participate in WECC working group meetings and case building efforts on behalf of specific clients as assigned.
  • Preparetechnical study reports for all studies performed.
  • Process, generate,and maintain data as required forallstudies.
  • Take responsibility for the timely completion of projects assigned while meeting all project quality and budget objectives.
  • Identify training needs and present to the Engineering Manageras needed.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned

  • Bachelors degree in Electric Engineering with an emphasis in power systems

Staff II

  • Bachelors degree in Electric Engineering with an emphasis in power systems
  • 2 - 3 years of experience as a power systems engineer
  • Experience performing power system impact studies such as Steady State, Short Circuit, and Dynamic Stability
  • Experience with power systems software such as PSLF, PSCAD, Aspen, and TARA.
  • Experience automating/programing in Python
