Job Description

This role supports the Field Services team by performing testing, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems across generation, renewable energy, industrial, and commercial installations. You'll be responsible for ensuring the integrity and reliability of high- and low-voltage systems, directly impacting system safety, equipment performance, and customer satisfaction.

What You'll Do

You'll be part of a team that gets things done, works with purpose, and takes pride in the results. Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:
  • Travel to customer sites for inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and start-up on electrical systems (240V to 765kV)
  • Perform testing on power transformers (e.g., Power Factor, TTR, Insulation Resistance) and collect oil samples
  • Test and troubleshoot protective relays, LV/MV/HV cables, switchgear, switches, and circuit breakers
  • Test and troubleshoot instrument transformers and control circuits
  • Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and electrical drawings
  • Follow NETA ATS/MTS specifications and guidelines
  • Manage project files, drawings, and technical documentation
  • Provide excellent customer communication and service
  • Train apprentices and other team members
  • Be available for occasional evening, weekend, holiday, and emergency work
  • Conduct hands-on execution including start-up, commissioning, and repairs
  • Handle power delivery systems: transformers, switchgear, busways, UPS, ATS, PLCs, relays, and power control systems
  • Prepare and maintain detailed reports, checklists, and documentation


Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience in electrical apparatus testing and troubleshooting
  • NETA or NICET certification preferred
  • Familiarity with power distribution, AC/DC voltage, and circuit theory
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and electrical drawings
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and diagnostic software
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver's license with a safe driving record
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • OSHA 30-hour, MSHA, NFPA 70E, CPR/First Aid/BBP/AED training preferred (training available through KE if needed)

Pay Range

Pay Range: $35 - $60 per hour
