Definition: The Power Platform/SharePoint Developer designs, builds, and maintains solutions using Microsoft's Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI) and SharePoint Online to automate workflows, enhance collaboration, and deliver actionable insights. The role bridges business needs with technical implementation, ensuring scalable, secure, and user-friendly solutions. The Power Platform/SharePoint Developer will be responsible for the management of the City's SharePoint Online infrastructure and the development of system governance, security, architecture, designs and solution implementations for the City's SharePoint and Power Platform environments in support of the City's business initiatives. They promote the adoption and effective use of Microsoft 365 tools, including SharePoint, Teams, and Power Platform. Principal Duties:  Power Platform Development: o Design, develop, and maintain applications using Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven) to solve business challenges. o Automate workflows and business processes with Power Automate, including complex flows and integrations. o Create and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for data visualization and decision-making.  SharePoint & Dataverse: o Build, customize, and optimize SharePoint Online sites, lists, libraries, forms, views, and permissions. o Design and manage Dataverse data models, relationships, and data types. o Integrate SharePoint with Power Platform tools and approved third-party systems. o Manage SharePoint Online sites and storage using SharePoint Advanced Management, lifecycle policies, and quotas  Integration & APIs: o Connect Power Platform solutions with Microsoft 365, Azure, and external systems via APIs and REST.  Data & Analytics: o Perform data cleansing, transformation, and integration from multiple sources. o Use SQL, DAX, and Power Query for data modeling and analysis.  Support & Training: o Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and user training for Power Platform and SharePoint solutions. o Maintain documentation for solutions and processes.  Governance & Security: o Ensure solutions comply with enterprise standards, security policies, and data classification requirements (e.g., PII, PCI, CJIS, HIPAA)  Lead SharePoint Governance team consisting of critical business units and members and mitigate conflicting requirements to guarantee a productive solution for all. Working Environment: Work is performed in a standard office environment. Work requires problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Work involves frequent reading, reasoning, customer contact, multiple concurrent tasks, constant interruptions, heavy lifting and carrying (50 pounds. or more), pulling, pushing, reaching, walking, standing, bending/stooping. Work involves occasional sitting, climbing, twisting, kneeling, and squatting. Requires periodic travel to other departments. Responsibilities may include evening and weekend work in response to needs of the systems being supported. Qualifications: Any combination of experience or education equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college with major course work in business information systems, computer science or a closely related field and a minimum 3+ years in Power BI development (DAX, Power Query, data modeling, custom visuals). Extensive Power Apps and Power Automate experience, including complex flows and multi-data-source integrations. Advanced SharePoint Online customization and Dataverse expertise.
