Your New Role...CNN is looking for a Supervisor, Post Production Enablement, based in the New York bureau and ready to work with teams across CNN's global footprint. This is a key video production technology and workflow leadership role responsible for deploying, supporting, and improving the tools and processes that power video content creation across CNN.
Reporting to the Director of Post Production Operations, this position serves as a hands-on subject matter expert in edit and post production workflows, media asset management, editing technologies, and cloud-based environments. The Supervisor will partner with production, editorial, and engineering teams to identify workflow challenges, test and validate new technologies, develop appropriately scaled solutions that further CNN's video goals, and drive adoption through training, documentation, and user support.
The ideal candidate combines deep technical knowledge of post production tools (such as Adobe Premiere and Iconik) with strong operational instincts, a passion for solving workflow challenges, and the ability to effectively support fast-paced news and creative production teams.
Your Role Accountabilities...- Serve as a subject matter expert for post-production workflows, media asset management systems, and editing technologies deployed by CNN.
- Design, validate, document, and deploy new workflows and production tools and/or dial in established workflows for new teams to meet Production Ops objectives.
- Partner with editorial, production, and engineering stakeholders to take needs and turn them into solutions that work.
- Lead user acceptance testing and operational readiness efforts for new platforms, features, and workflow enhancements.
- Create and deliver training, documentation, and best practices to ensure successful adoption of workflows and technologies across teams.
- Troubleshoot issues with deployed MAM and edit systems, coordinating with vendors and internal stakeholders to get real data and timely resolutions.
- Support and optimize media asset management workflows including ingest, metadata, search, retrieval, archive, and content delivery.
- Champion workflow standards and continuous improvement initiatives across all users Production Operations partners with.
Qualifications & Experience...- 5+ years of experience in post production, media asset management, media workflow design, or production technology.
- Demonstrated expertise with Adobe Premiere Pro, including editing workflows, project management, media organization, troubleshooting, and collaborative edit environments.
- Hands-on experience administering and supporting Iconik or similar enterprise Media Asset Management (MAM) platforms.
- Strong understanding of post production workflows including ingest of camera original media, metadata, proxy generation, edit, finishing, content delivery, and archive.
- Experience testing and deploying new production tools and technology solutions.
- Proven ability to develop workflow documentation, deliver end-user training, and drive adoption of new technologies. Especially relevant are examples of translating technical concepts into practical operational solutions when change is involved and strong communication skills are required.
- Technical knowledge of AWS or similar cloud storage platforms and hybrid cloud production is a plus.
- Experience evaluating, experimenting with, or implementing emerging production technologies, automation solutions, and AI-enabled tools is a plus.
- Experience working in a fast-paced news, sports, documentary, or digital content production environment.
- Ability to work nights and weekends as needed to support production operations.
