Description

Summary

The Portfolio Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of an assigned portfolio of transportation broker and/or carrier (i.e. commercial trucking) clients, ensuring these client relationships meet management standards. These standards include risk, profitability, factoring services, exceptional customer service and financial controls. Through interdepartmental coordination and Account Executives that report directly to the Portfolio Manager, this position is responsible for ensuring the clients receive competitive factoring services and exceptional customer service, thereby minimizing voluntary client terminations. The Portfolio Manager will coach and mentor Account Executives to develop relationships with clients and internal partners to proactively manage client accounts.

Responsibilities
  • Provide courteous, timely and effective customer service to both internal and external customers.
  • Monitor factored sales, disputes and reserves. Watch for unfavorable trends and take necessary action to mitigate risk and exposure.
  • Negotiate difficult situations that escalate between PCG clients and Account Executives. Coordinate resolution of any problems with appropriate personnel.
  • Manage Account Executive collection process to ensure proper coverage, contact, and follow-up is conducted to provide the collection effort expected by Division management.
  • Manage Account Executive opportunities to proactively increase client limits when necessary. Review Scorecards and prepare Credit Presentations for accuracy to support client credit limit increases. Approve client credit limits within granted credit limit authority.
  • Manage Account Executive return or application of unidentified, duplicate or non-factored payments to clients or debtors.
  • Manage client contract amendments and cancellations.
  • Manage assignment and movement of Account Executive client accounts.
  • Manage coverage of client accounts in Account Executive absence.
  • Develop and train Account Executives to follow standard and efficient practices to meet division KPI's.
  • Lead Account Executive round table meetings and communicate verbally with Accounts Executives on a regular basis.
  • Participate in monthly Asset Quality meetings as required.
  • Other duties that may be requested/assigned from time-to-time.


Requirements

Skills/Experience/Education
  • College degree or 5 years equivalent work experience in factoring, financial services, credit, collections, management, or other related business field. Bi-lingual is a plus.

  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of Factorsoft is a plus.

Essential Mental & Physical Requirements
  • Ability to travel if required to perform the essential job functions.
  • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to read and interpret a document if required to perform the essential job functions
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer may be required.
  • Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 15 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions. If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department/division any "undue hardship" then the employee must be accommodated; hence omitting lifting/moving/carrying as a physical requirement.
