Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required
• Resident within 50 miles of Houston
• At least 10 years in the maritime sector, including 5 years as a Captain
• Strong supervisory abilities
• Master of Towing Vessels certification
• TWIC Card holder
• Personal Radio License required
• Radar Observer certification
• QI Training completed
• Experience in Incident Investigation

Responsibilities

• Travel to various locations with potential extended stays
• Enforce safety and environmental standards
• Ensure crew meets regulatory training requirements
• Assist with operational budget management
• Investigate incidents such as vessel damage and personal injuries
• Ensure accurate documentation is completed
• Review orders for accuracy before transit
• Oversee crew management and development
• Maintain navigational standards
• Inspect vessels for operational readiness
• Coordinate logistical support such as tugs and pilots
• Provide technical expertise for specialized field jobs
• Manage up to 10 assigned vessels
