The Menifee Police Department is pleased to formally announce its Lieutenant promotional recruitment. Qualified candidates will be required to undergo a multi-faceted process prior to filling this integral position within our organization.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEAny combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in criminal justice, police science, business administration, public administration, or a related field.
- Six (6) years (full-time equivalent) of increasingly responsible law enforcement experience as a sworn peace officer, including two years at a supervisory level.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS- Possession and maintenance of a valid California POST Basic Certificate.
- Possession of a valid California POST Advanced Certificate.
- Possession of a California POST Supervisory Certificate is desirable.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, and maintain a valid California Driver's License by time of appointment.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS- Must currently be employed as a Menifee Peace Officer in good standing and must have successfully completed probation by time of submittal of application.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must possess U.S. Citizenship at time of appointment.
SELECTION PROCEDUREApplicants possessing the required qualifications will be invited to participate in the examination process. All qualified applicants will be assessed on job-relevant qualifications, including possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for the Lieutenant position; ability to perform essential job functions; and related education, training, and experience.
Upon completion of all examination components, candidates will be notified and placed into one of the following bands based on their overall score:
- Highly Qualified (90.0% and above)
- Well Qualified (80.0% to 89.9%)
- Qualified (70.0% to 79.9%)
- Not Qualified (69.9% and below)
EXAMINATION COMPONENTS AND DATES- Appraisal Interviews and written portion to take place on Thursday, Sept. 10th

- 360° Evaluation (advisory only)
