Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and treat conditions affecting the feet, ankles, and lower legs.
  • Perform physical examinations and review patient medical histories.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans, including medication, orthotics, therapy, and surgical interventions when appropriate.
  • Treat conditions such as plantar fasciitis, bunions, hammertoes, diabetic foot complications, sports injuries, fractures, and ingrown toenails.
  • Perform office-based and surgical procedures related to foot and ankle care.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including X-rays and laboratory studies.
  • Prescribe custom orthotics, braces, and other assistive devices.
  • Educate patients on foot health, injury prevention, diabetes management, and proper footwear.
  • Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, wound care specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Stay current with advancements in podiatric medicine and best practices.
