Full Job Description
Boise Cascade is seeking an experienced, people-focused Plywood Shift Supervisor to join the leadership team at our Plywood manufacturing plant in White City, Oregon.

This is an opportunity to make a direct impact in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where safety, teamwork, operational excellence, and continuous improvement are at the center of everything we do. The successful candidate will lead by example, make sound operational decisions, and inspire production employees to achieve outstanding results while upholding Boise Cascade's Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, and Excellence.

Primary Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the daily activities of production employees to support safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
  • Provide daily and weekly reports summarizing production flow, performance, and operational results.
  • Collaborate with plant personnel to identify and implement improvements related to production, quality, safety, and workflow.
  • Supervise hourly production employees in housekeeping, job safety, productivity, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Promote a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Facilitate periodic safety meetings and reinforce safe work practices with hourly employees.
  • Build strong employee relations and foster a collaborative, respectful, and accountable team environment.
  • Provide leadership with regular updates regarding plant safety, production, quality, staffing, and workflow.
  • Maintain environmental awareness and promote compliance with environmental, safety, and company standards.
  • Review work performance, provide coaching and feedback, and complete employee performance appraisals.
  • Understand and facilitate payroll processes accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Support inventory, shipping, production scheduling, and maintenance coordination.
  • Champion the Boise Improvement Cycle (BIC) and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

Minimum Education and Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent is required. College Degree in Industrial/mechanical engineering, forestry or wood manufacturing is preferred.

Three (3) to five (5) years' experience in manufacturing or wood products experience, with experience as a Lead or Supervisor is strongly preferred.

Essential qualifications include proven skills in a production environment with an understanding of manufacturing practices, excellent communication skills with the ability to work well with people and to facilitate change and growth in a team environment. Must be available to work a flexible work schedule in a production-manufacturing environment. PC skills are essential.
