We are looking for a Playwright Automation Architect / Technical Lead to join our growing team in the United States! Location: US Remote Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Playwright Automation Architect / Technical Lead to design and lead scalable, maintainable, and robust automation solutions across our software ecosystem. This is a hands-on technical leadership role requiring strong expertise in Playwright, automation architecture, CI/CD, API and backend testing, and emerging AI-enabled quality engineering practices. Key Responsibilities Automation Architecture & Leadership - Design, develop, and evolve Playwright-based automation frameworks for UI, API, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing. - Establish automation standards, reusable patterns, governance, and best practices. - Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines and drive continuous testing. - Improve framework scalability, reliability, performance, and maintainability. - Evaluate and adopt modern automation tools and technologies. AI-Enabled Quality Engineering - Leverage AI-assisted tools and techniques for test design, automation development, test-data generation, defect analysis, and coverage optimization. - Explore capabilities such as intelligent regression selection, self-healing automation, anomaly detection, and AI-assisted defect triage. - Ensure AI-assisted solutions are validated, maintainable, traceable, and aligned with quality and governance standards. Hands-On Test Engineering - Remain hands-on in developing and maintaining automated tests using Playwright and TypeScript/JavaScript or similar technologies. - Create automation from User Stories, Acceptance Criteria, technical specifications, and business requirements. - Support exploratory, manual, API, integration, and end-to-end testing as required. - Troubleshoot automation failures and reduce flaky or low-value tests. API, Database & Backend Testing - Perform API, service, integration, and backend validation. - Use SQL for database validation and test-data management. - Validate end-to-end business workflows and system integrations. Technical Leadership & Collaboration - Provide technical guidance and mentorship to QA/SDET and engineering teams. - Collaborate with Developers, Product Owners, BAs, Architects, and Delivery teams. - Promote shift-left testing, testability, quality engineering, and continuous improvement. - Communicate automation strategy, technical decisions, and quality risks to technical and business stakeholders. Qualifications Must Have - 7+ years of experience in Automation Testing, SDET, Quality Engineering, or similar technical QA roles. - Deep hands-on expertise in Playwright, including framework design, architecture, optimization, and governance. - Strong programming skills in TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, Java, C#, or similar. - Strong experience with automation architecture, CI/CD, API testing, database validation, and end-to-end testing. - Experience applying AI-assisted tools or AI-enabled quality engineering practices. - Strong analytical, troubleshooting, architectural, and problem-solving skills. - Ability to operate as a hands-on technical contributor and technical leader. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Preferred - Data Engineering / Data Science (DE/DS) experience. - Experience with cloud platforms and containerized environments. - Experience with enterprise applications and distributed systems. - Experience establishing automation standards across multiple teams.
