Full Job Description
We are looking for a Platform Owner, Engineering Applications. This position will be located in either Raleigh NC or Atlanta GA.

We are seeking a Platform Owner - Engineering Applications to lead the strategy, governance, and continuous improvement of our engineering configurators and CAD-based design tools ecosystem. This role is pivotal in ensuring our engineering teams - and the broader organization - have the right tools and digital workflows to deliver accurate, efficient, and scalable product designs, supporting our growth in providing power distribution solutions into key markets like Data Centers, Utilities, and Industrial.

This position will be responsible for defining the strategic roadmap, aligning stakeholders, managing vendor partnerships, and driving the evolution of our engineering tools landscape, including product configurators, CAD/CAE tools, design automation, and associated data integrations.

You will make a difference with the following duties:
  • Strategic Leadership & Roadmap Ownership
    • Define and drive the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Engineering Tools & Design Stack, including product configurators, CAD/CAE platforms, design libraries, and automation tools.
    • Partner with Engineering, Product Management, Sales, Manufacturing, etc to ensure tools align with business needs, market requirements, and product complexity.
    • Drive continuous improvement in design workflows to enable faster, error-free, and customer-specific product configurations and designs.
    • Lead initiatives to modernize and standardize tools to support next-generation digital business models, including mass customization, modular product architecture, and AI-assisted design.

    Tool & Platform Management
    • Own and govern the engineering tool landscape, including but not limited to CAD/CAE systems (e.g., NX, AutoCAD, eBase, etc), Siemens configurators, PLM applications (e.g. TeamCenter, Graph databases), and design automation platforms.
    • Ensure seamless integration between configurators, CAD/CAE tools, ERP (SAP), CRM (Salesforce), and CPQ systems, supporting end-to-end automation from sales to production.
    • Lead tool upgrades, migrations, and vendor engagements, ensuring robust license management, cost optimization, and compliance.

    Cross-Functional Collaboration & Support
    • Act as the primary liaison and advocate for engineering tool users, gathering requirements, prioritizing needs, and translating them into actionable development plans.
    • Partner with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and IT to ensure design outputs align with production and sourcing constraints.
    • Drive training and change management to support the adoption and effective use of tools across global engineering and sales teams.

    Innovation & Future-Proofing
    • Stay abreast of industry trends, including AI/ML in engineering design, parametric and generative design, digital twin, and model-based definition (MBD).
    • Develop a strategy for future-proofing the engineering stack, including cloud-based CAD/CAE, real-time collaboration, and automation-enhanced design tools.
    • Explore and champion AI-driven configurators and next-gen digital engineering capabilities to maintain competitive differentiation.

You will make impact by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree
  • 7+ years of experience with the following:
    • Engineering tools, CAD/CAE systems, or product configurator platform management, preferably in industrial, utility, or complex product sectors.
    • Strong expertise with CAD/CAE tools and engineering configurators.
    • Deep understanding of engineering design processes, BOM structures, product rules logic, and design automation.
    • Integrating CAD/CAE tools and Configurators to PLM tools, ERP platforms, and CRM/CPQ platforms.
    • Proven track record managing cross-functional digital projects, including tool selection, implementation, and adoption.
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance technical and business considerations.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, able to collaborate with engineering, product, IT, and leadership teams. Ability to influence without authority.
    • Familiarity with cloud-based design tools, AI/ML applications in design, and emerging digital engineering trends is a plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% domestically
  • Authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Technology consulting or professional services background
  • Electromechanical engineering background
  • Experience with integrated tool ecosystems with APIs and cross-system workflows

The pay range for this position is 91,463 - 156,794 annually with a target incentive of 10% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
