Intuitive Machines - West is seeking a Platform Engineer-Multi Cloud specializing in Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure governance, Azure Entra, cloud infrastructure management, and AI-enhanced platform operations. You will be responsible for designing and implementing Azure infrastructure patterns, Kubernetes operations, and governance frameworks that enable engineering teams to provision and manage Azure resources securely and efficiently. This role can be based in our Palo Alto, CA location or based remotely in the US.
This role focuses on Kubernetes cluster operations in Azure, Azure governance frameworks, infrastructure automation, multi-cloud consistency, and AI agent orchestration. You'll build reusable infrastructure patterns that work seamlessly across cloud providers while maintaining governance, security, and compliance standards. You'll also harness AI to build intelligent automation that enhances platform operations and developer productivity.
This is a platform engineering role focused on building infrastructure products and Kubernetes operations, not traditional cloud administration. You'll design infrastructure patterns and governance frameworks that enable self-service while maintaining enterprise controls.

Minimum Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen or permanent resident
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience in platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, or Azure administration
- Minimum of 3 years of Azure experience
- Minimum of 3 years of production Kubernetes experience
- GitOps experience
- CI/CD experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Azure certifications: Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) certifications
- Kubernetes certifications: CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator) or CKAD
- Azure Policy and Blueprints experience for governance
- CMMC or FedRAMP compliance experience
- Multi-cloud experience: Working knowledge of both Azure and AWS
- Crossplane experience
- Azure DevOps experience (though GitLab is primary CI/CD)
- Azure Cost Management and FinOps experience
- Azure Government Cloud experience
- Packer experience for building Azure VM images
- Harbor or Azure Container Registry experience
- KubeVirt for VM workloads on Kubernetes
- Cilium CNI for advanced Kubernetes networking
- Experience designing platform APIs or internal developer platforms
- Experience with Linux system administration or Azure Linux VMs
- Background in aerospace, defense, or government contracting

Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.
• The base pay for this position within Colorado is: $102,000.00 - $170,000.00 annually.• The base pay for this position within New Jersey is: $102,000.00 - $170,000.00 annually.• The base pay for this position within Delaware is: $102,000.00 - $170,000.00 annually.• The base pay for this position within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $113,000.00 - $188,000.00 annually.• The base pay for this position within California is: $117,000.00 - $195,000.00 annually.
For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
