Full Job Description
The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations across all manufacturing plants, ensuring production efficiency, product quality, employee safety, and timely completion of all customer orders. This role requires a hands-on leader who is mechanically inclined, highly organized, and able to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence. The Plant Manager will provide strategic leadership, coordinate resources, and ensure effective communication across all facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Operational Management
  • Oversee all plant operations across multiple manufacturing facilities.
  • Provide strong leadership to production supervisors and team members, ensuring a positive, productive, and safety-focused work environment.
  • Develop and maintain production schedules to meet all deadlines and delivery commitments.
  • Monitor daily output, workflow, staffing, and quality metrics to maintain high performance.
  • Implement Lean manufacturing practices to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Support supervisors by ensuring all areas are adequately staffed and trained.
  • Lead daily or weekly production meetings to ensure alignment on goals and priorities.
  • Communicate effectively with the President, supervisors, and cross-functional departments.

Safety, Compliance & Quality
  • Ensure all plants follow safety standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a culture of safety awareness, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure high levels of product quality and consistency across all facilities.
  • Address safety concerns immediately and coordinate corrective actions.

Maintenance & Equipment Management
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure machines, tools, and equipment are safe, functional, and properly maintained.
  • Communicate equipment or facility issues promptly to the President and maintenance teams.

Operational & Team Development
  • Support supervisors in organizing workflow, managing priorities, and troubleshooting issues.
  • Participate in hiring, training, coaching, and evaluating employees and supervisors.
  • Foster cross-training across all plants to enhance flexibility and production coverage.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and strong communication across all shifts and locations.


General Responsibilities
  • Ensure team members follow all safety guidelines and work practices.
  • Work independently and collaboratively to ensure the successful completion of projects.
  • Complete additional tasks or strategic initiatives assigned by the President.
  • Drive continuous improvement in efficiency, cost control, quality, and employee engagement.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail while overseeing multiple plants and processes.


Requirements

Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in business, manufacturing, or engineering preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive or manufacturing leadership is highly preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude required.
  • Proven experience managing production teams and plant operations.


Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, kneel, twist, and reach for extended periods as needed when inspecting operations.
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. occasionally; heavier lifting with assistance.
  • Ability to inspect machinery, materials, and production lines visually.
  • Must be able to hear instructions, alarms, and safety signals in various production environments.
  • Ability to work in environments that may be hot, cold, dusty, or noisy, depending on the plant area.
  • Must be able to safely navigate production floors, ladders, and platforms as required.
