Full Job Description
Position Summary

The Plant Manager is the senior operating leader responsible for the overall performance, stabilization, and operational excellence of the TASKI Toledo manufacturing site. This leader owns safety, quality, labor productivity, delivery performance, inventory execution, and financial performance while driving operational rigor across a complex discrete manufacturing and assembly operation.

This role requires a highly hands-on leader with deep expertise in discrete manufacturing systems, labor efficiency, assembly operations, production flow, material management, and daily management disciplines. The successful candidate must be capable of stabilizing and scaling a growing operation that currently faces multiple operational constraints including supply chain variability, SAP/MRP process gaps, procurement challenges, component shortages, backorders, labor volatility, and evolving production ramp requirements.

This is not a passive maintenance role. This leader must thrive in fast-paced operational environments requiring structure creation, problem-solving, accountability systems, and operational turnaround capability.

Core Responsibilities

Operational Leadership & Site Performance
  • Lead all aspects of plant operations including safety, quality, production, maintenance, materials, inventory, logistics, and labor performance
  • Drive daily operational execution through disciplined tiered accountability and visual management systems
  • Establish and sustain strong daily management routines focused on SQDIP (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity)
  • Own site KPIs including:
    • OTIF
    • Labor productivity
    • OEE
    • Schedule attainment
    • Scrap/rework
    • Inventory accuracy
    • Backorder reduction
    • Absenteeism
    • Throughput
  • Lead structured operational recovery and stabilization initiatives

Labor Productivity & Workforce Effectiveness
  • Drive labor efficiency improvements through standard work, line balancing, staffing optimization, and workflow discipline
  • Establish labor planning models tied to production demand and takt time
  • Implement productivity management systems including labor control towers, attendance management, staffing discipline, and cross-training programs
  • Build workforce flexibility through cross-certification and skill matrix development
  • Develop frontline supervisors into strong operational leaders with high accountability standards
  • Create a culture of urgency, ownership, and execution discipline

Discrete Manufacturing & Assembly Excellence
  • Lead a multi-SKU assembly and discrete-parts manufacturing environment with strong focus on flow, sequencing, and material synchronization
  • Improve assembly line throughput, reduce bottlenecks, and optimize workstation efficiency
  • Drive improvements in:
    • Changeovers
    • Material presentation
    • Kitting
    • Point-of-use inventory
    • Workflow ergonomics
    • Assembly quality
    • Testing processes
  • Partner with engineering and quality teams to reduce process variation and improve first-pass yield
  • Improve production scalability while protecting quality and delivery performance

Supply Chain, Materials & SAP/MRP Execution
  • Partner closely with Procurement, Planning, and Supply Chain teams to improve material availability and reduce operational disruption
  • Drive root-cause resolution of SAP/MRP and master data issues impacting OTIF and inventory performance
  • Lead structured material review and shortage management processes
  • Improve inventory integrity, transaction discipline, and material flow execution
  • Develop escalation systems for supplier constraints, shortages, and procurement risks
  • Ensure operational readiness for production ramps and demand fluctuations

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
  • Build a culture of operational excellence using Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Drive measurable improvements in:
    • OEE
    • Labor productivity
    • Downtime reduction
    • Throughput
    • Inventory turns
    • Lead time
    • Scrap reduction
  • Implement sustainable systems rather than reactive firefighting
  • Lead root cause problem solving using structured methodologies
  • Establish KPI visibility and accountability across all operating functions

Safety & Quality Leadership
  • Champion a zero-incident safety culture with strong floor presence and operational discipline
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
  • Partner with Quality to strengthen process controls, containment response, and corrective action systems
  • Drive accountability for first-pass quality and defect prevention

Financial & Business Leadership
  • Manage site operating costs, labor spending, overtime, inventory, and productivity performance
  • Translate operational performance into financial outcomes
  • Support budget attainment while balancing operational realities and customer service
  • Partner cross-functionally with commercial, supply chain, procurement, finance, engineering, and planning teams

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field preferred
  • 7+ years of manufacturing leadership experience in discrete manufacturing, assembly, or engineered products environments
  • Demonstrated success leading plant operations, operational turnarounds, or performance recovery initiatives
  • Strong experience with:
    • Labor productivity management
    • OEE improvement
    • Lean Manufacturing
    • Tiered daily management systems
    • Assembly operations
    • Production scheduling
