Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead manufacturing operations for a precision machining facility with approximately 70 employees. This contract-to-hire opportunity is responsible for overseeing CNC machining, grinding, production scheduling, quality, maintenance, and continuous improvement efforts to ensure operational excellence, on-time delivery, and profitability.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on manufacturing leader with a strong background in precision machining and proven success driving performance, productivity, and team development in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead daily manufacturing operations, including CNC turning, milling, grinding, inspection, and secondary processes.
* Drive improvements in on-time delivery, productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.
* Manage production planning, scheduling, capacity, and resource utilization to meet customer requirements.
* Monitor and improve key performance metrics, including labor efficiency, machine utilization, scrap, rework, and throughput.
* Partner with quality, engineering, and supply chain teams to support production goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Support compliance with applicable quality standards and regulatory requirements.
* Manage manufacturing costs, including labor, overtime, tooling, and consumables.
* Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and production personnel while fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and teamwork.
Qualifications:
* Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field preferred.
* 10+ years of manufacturing leadership experience.
* 5+ years managing CNC machining operations within a precision manufacturing environment.
* Strong knowledge of CNC turning, milling, grinding, production scheduling, Lean Manufacturing, ERP/MRP systems, and manufacturing cost control.
* Proven experience leading teams and driving operational improvements.
* Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
* Experience in aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments is preferred.
* Due to the nature of the work US Citizenship is required.
