Job Description:The Position: Under the direction of the Aggregate Manager, the Plant Manager - Aggregates oversees the day-to-day operations associated with safety leadership, quarry management, aggregate production, scheduling and direct personnel management. Additionally, directs and coordinates the activities related to the mining and production of aggregate for internal asphalt plants and construction markets. This role requires leadership in safety, quality, and operational excellence.
- Support safe work practices and help ensure compliance with MSHA regulations.
- Assist with crushing, washing, and aggregate production to meet quality goals and schedules.
- Help monitor production efficiency, budgets, and operational costs, and contribute ideas for improvement.
- Support mine planning, site layouts, stripping, dewatering, haul routes, and coordination with subcontractors.
- Assist with inventory tracking and work closely with survey, accounting, and management teams.
- Help coordinate drilling and blasting activities and support general site maintenance needs.
- Support a field team of approximately ten employees through day-to-day guidance, training, and onboarding.
- Communicate with management regarding production needs, site conditions, and operational updates.
Requirements: - Safety-focused with a willingness to learn MSHA requirements and company safety procedures.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- Basic to intermediate computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to travel locally and regionally as needed.
- Interest in learning quarry operations, production processes, and site management.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in construction, aggregates, mining, manufacturing, or another industrial environment is helpful.
- Familiarity with equipment operations, production processes, or quality control is a plus.
- Experience with scheduling, supervising teams, or coordinating field operations is beneficial.
- Exposure to software such as HCSS, AutoCAD, or AggFlow is helpful but not required.
- Knowledge of DOT material specifications is a plus.
- Mechanical aptitude or experience with equipment maintenance is beneficial.
