ABOUT THE ROLE
The Plant Maintenance and Reliability Manager is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving process improvements through Lean Manufacturing and cross-functional collaboration. As the site's primary technical resource, you will lead a high-performing team-including a Maintenance Supervisor, 8 multi-skilled technicians, and a FAME apprentice-to sustain and exceed a world-class OEE of 89%. This is a "working leader" position that requires a
sophisticated balance of engineering-level reliability strategy and hands-on mechanical/electrical troubleshooting to support a 24/7 continuous operation.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Leadership & People Development
  • Provide direct leadership, coaching, and direction to the Maintenance Supervisor and the technician team through Gemba walks and one-on-one observations.
  • Serve as the primary mentor for the FAME apprentice, ensuring their on-the-job training aligns with world-class technical standards and curriculum.
  • Lead efforts to improve teammate relations both within the department and across the broader manufacturing operation.
  • Collaborate with sister sites to solve complex problems and share regional best practices.

Reliability & Operational Excellence
  • Own the reliability and maintainability of all equipment, utilities, facilities, and controls for the polyiso production lines.
  • Systematically develop and monitor Asset Maintenance Plan focused on transitioning from reactive to Predictive Maintenance (PdM) and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA).
  • Drive the plant toward "World Class" metrics, focusing on OEE, first-pass yield, and optimized fixed/variable costs.
  • Develop sustainable solutions for repetitive failures and electrical/mechanical equipment issues using formal root cause analysis.

Capital Projects & Financial Management
  • Identify and manage capital needs (production, safety, and building) from inception to completion.
  • Direct all project phases: estimating, fund procurement, equipment specification, vendor management, and onsite safety supervision.
  • Own the Maintenance OpEx budget, including oversight of MRO parts inventory and contractor service agreements to ensure fiscal responsibility.

Safety & Compliance
  • Serve as a key resource for safety-related issues and maintain steadfast environmental regulatory compliance.

Energy Management:
  • Expertly manage and oversee Lock Out Tag Out Try Out (LOTOTO) programs and energy control procedures to ensure zero-harm during maintenance activities.
  • Process Safety: Direct compliance and technical oversight for Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Plan (RMP) standards, ensuring all mechanical integrity and pressure vessel requirements are met.
  • Identify and manage Capital needs for safety and environmental improvements from inception to completion, including funds procurement and supervising safe onsite work.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • 4-year degree in Engineering or equivalent technical experience.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of manufacturing experience, with at least 5 years specifically in engineering/reliability roles.
  • Proven experience leading and developing a direct-report team (Supervisors/Technicians) in a manufacturing environment.
  • "Hands-on" proficiency: Must be able to work with tools and support technicians during complex troubleshooting on the floor.
  • Strong project management skills, including budgeting and vendor negotiation.
  • Excellent communication, change management, and team-building capabilities.
  • Certifications: Six Sigma Black Belt, Lean Expert, CMRP, CRL, or ARP.
  • Systems: Proficiency in Maintenance Connection (or similar CMMS), SAP, and data historian systems.
  • Lean: Advanced training and application of Lean tools in a continuous flow environment.

Physical Requirements:
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Able to walk, stand, or sit for long periods of time in a manufacturing environment.

WHAT WE OFFER
• Competitive salary
• Retirement Savings: Choose from 401(k) pre-tax and/or Roth after-tax savings

• Holistic Health & Well-being programs
• Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) & Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) for health and dependent care
