Job DescriptionAs the Plant Human Resources Manager, you'll be responsible for leading all HR functions at the Aurora, OH facility, ensuring alignment with plant operational goals and corporate standards. This role partners closely with the Plant Manager, department leaders, and corporate HR to drive effective people practices, promote a positive employee experience, and support business performance.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Collaboration- Keep the Plant Manager fully informed of key HR issues, trends, and workforce needs; actively coordinate HR initiatives with other departments.
- Align HR strategies, programs, and processes with overall plant goals to support operational success.
- Build and maintain strong community relationships to support recruiting efforts and enhance community presence.
Employee Relations & Policy Administration- Provide guidance to managers and supervisors on effective employee relations practices.
- Ensure consistent and equitable application of company policies and procedures.
- Serve as a liaison with government agencies as required.
Talent Acquisition & Development- Manage exempt and non-exempt staffing for the facility.
- Coordinate direct labor hiring with employment agencies.
- Ensure complete, timely onboarding and orientation for all new hires.
- Partner with managers to ensure ongoing, documented on-the-job training.
- Conduct required regulatory training, including Sexual Harassment, Diversity, Code of Ethics, and Insider Trading.
Compensation, Benefits & Performance Management- Administer the facility's wage and salary program; conduct competitive wage surveys as needed.
- Lead performance management processes for hourly and salaried employees.
- Communicate and support corporate benefits programs, including open enrollment and employee eligibility updates.
Safety & Compliance- Support plant Safety Programs in partnership with the EHS Manager.
- Assist with accident investigations and follow-up actions.
- Ensure HR compliance with all local, state, and federal requirements.
Payroll & HR Operations- Oversee payroll accuracy, monitor overtime and attendance trends, and communicate concerns to leadership.
- Manage HR department budgeting and seek cost-saving opportunities.
- Coordinate and support all Corporate HR programs and initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
QualificationsRequired:- 3+ years of HR experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Bachelor's degree required;PHR/SPHR certification preferred.
- Proven understanding and recall of company policies, procedures, and departmental operations.
- Ability to analyze, prioritize, and manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
- Solid decision-making skills, leveraging both current information and past experience.
- Effective organizational, delegation, and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication abilities, including gathering and relaying information timely and clearly.
- Ability to remain calm and effective during emergency situations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to apply policies fairly.
- Ability to remain focused, flexible, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
- Ownership mindset with strong commitment to ISO processes and continuous improvement.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment- Ability to work a standard 9-hour day, five days per week; extended hours may be required.
- Office environment with typical plant-adjacent conditions (temperature 65-85°F, dust/odor exposure, plastic purge fumes, noise level ~87dB).
- Must be able to wear required PPE (hairnet, rubber-soled shoes, earplugs, beard net if applicable).
- Occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs.
- Regular sitting for 1-2 hours for paperwork, phone communication, or meetings.
- Frequent use of arms/hands for writing, typing, reading, and office equipment operation.
Organizational Relationship- Reports directly to the Regional Director of Human Resources with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Plant Manager.
