Your role at Clorox:

The Plant Engineering & Maintenance Leader is a member of the Plant Leadership Team and is accountable for engineering technical leadership, maintenance stewardship, facility and infrastructure reliability, capital program execution, and development of engineering and maintenance capability.
The role aligns technical resources and priorities to deliver safe, compliant, reliable, cost-effective operations and the plant's business objectives.

In this role, you will:

Key Responsibilities:Safety, Environmental and Regulatory Stewardship

• Lead the plant construction and contractor safety program and ensure compliance with plant, company, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide stewardship for environmental compliance, including monitoring, reporting, permits, waste management, spill prevention, and response to regulatory changes.
• Ensure engineering and maintenance work conforms to applicable codes, Clorox Engineering Standards, and safety and regulatory requirements.
• Support plant audits and risk-reduction activities, including coordination with FM Global and incorporation of applicable standards into capital plans and designs.

Maintenance, Reliability and Facility Management

• Align the maintenance function with company maintenance strategy, systems, and standard metrics.
• Improve equipment reliability through effective preventive and predictive maintenance, work management, root-cause problem solving, and error-proofing.
• Oversee facility, building, roof, grounds, site security, fire protection, utilities, HVAC, infrastructure, permits, and assigned facility systems.
• Develop, maintain, and execute the 3-5 year Facility Improvement Plan and keep the Master Site Plan current.
• Establish technical and maintenance priorities based on plant risk, service, OEE, cost, safety, quality, and business requirements.

Engineering Technical Leadership and Documentation

• Critically review engineering and technical work and provide timely feedback, guidance, and direction before implementation.
• Maintain linkage with Technical Services Leadership and applicable Platform Teams for technology selections, equipment standards, pilots, and variances.
• Own the plant technical documentation system, including drawings, studies, calculations, equipment records, standards, SOPs, and job aids.
• Promote equipment standardization and use of proven engineering and maintenance best practices.

Capital Program and Project Delivery

• Develop and manage the annual and 3-year capital plan through internal plant reviews and business prioritization.
• Ensure adherence to Clorox Capital Project Management practices, procurement requirements, and scope, schedule, cost, risk, documentation, and Early Management deliverables.
• Review AFE submissions and supporting documents for clear scope, compelling business justification, numerical support, and appropriate plant concurrence.
• Monitor project execution, cash flow, forecasts, start-up performance, and deviations; escalate significant issues to the Plant Manager and Technical Services Leadership.
• Maintain accurate fixed-asset records and ensure timely capitalization, project closeout, and disposition of surplus, scrap, or idle assets.
• Provide required SAP planned-spending updates and cash-flow forecasts in accordance with company reporting expectations.

Operational Excellence, Innovation and Business Results

• Focus technical resources on productivity, OEE, operating efficiency, maintenance effectiveness, quality improvement, cost reduction, safety, environmental compliance, and new product or package initiatives.
• Lead engineering and maintenance contributions to plant OPEX/CMS priorities, Early Management, cost savings, and continuous improvement.
• Support feasibility assessment and execution for new products, reformulations, packages, R&D trials, and technical changes, including scope, cost, schedule, risk, and options analysis.
• Prepare and review performance scorecards and capability report to identify gaps, define countermeasures, and sustain results.

People Leadership and Capability Development

• Lead, coach, and develop engineering and maintenance employees, including technical personnel who may not report directly to the role.
• Complete performance objectives, development plans, career discussions, feedback, and required people processes for direct reports.
• Use applicable engineering career-development guidance and capability assessments to identify skill gaps and development actions.
• Identify resource and capability needs and partner with the Plant Manager and Technical Services Leadership on staffing, development, and succession.
• Create an inclusive, collaborative, and accountable culture focused on safety, technical rigor, execution, and continuous improvement.

Cross-Functional and External Leadership

• Act as an active member of the Plant Leadership Team and applicable Engineering Leadership Team.
• Collaborate with Plant Engineering Managers, functional engineers, operations, quality, safety, finance, procurement, and supply chain partners.
• Work with contractors, suppliers, regulatory agencies, and risk-management partners as required.
• Communicate technical priorities, decisions, risks, and progress clearly to plant and functional stakeholders.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience.
• Significant manufacturing engineering and maintenance experience, including leadership of people, reliability systems, facilities, and capital projects.
• Demonstrated knowledge of maintenance work management, project management, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA, CMMS, and manufacturing or engineering information systems.
• Strong problem-solving, planning, financial, troubleshooting, prioritization, and risk-management skills.
• Effective written, presentation, meeting facilitation, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead change, coach technical talent, collaborate cross-functionally, and deliver results with accountability.
