Full Job Description
Title: Plant Controller

Reports To: Group Controller

Primary Purpose: This is a plant FP&A, controlling and business-partnering role focused on driving financial and operational performance. You will be the dedicated controller for plant performance, working closely with Plant Management and operations to turn financial and operational data into insights and actions, identify improvement opportunities, and help develop better processes across the plant. You will report to the Group Controller. Accounting retains ownership of the books and month-end close.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Own monthly plant performance reporting, P&L and variance analysis.
  • Analyze manufacturing performance, including material usage, scrap, labor, productivity and costs.
  • Analyze inventory, working capital and other key drivers of plant financial performance.
  • Lead product costing and cost analysis, working with operations to ensure standard costs, underlying assumptions and master data accurately reflect plant operations.
  • Work with Plant Management and operations to identify root causes, improve processes and drive actions that improve plant performance.
  • Partner with Accounting to improve financial processes, standards and procedures.
  • Lead plant budgeting and forecasting with management.
  • Build business cases for CapEx and improvement projects.
  • Improve and automate reporting and analysis wherever practical using BI, AI and other automation tools.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • 2-5 years in cost accounting, FP&A, controlling or plant finance, preferably with manufacturing exposure.
  • Understanding of product costing, standard costing and manufacturing economics.
  • Hands-on ERP experience; Epicor or SAP is a plus.

  • Strong analytical skills and interest in data, automation and AI.
  • Self-starter who is comfortable taking ownership and working directly with plant leadership.
  • Clear communicator who is as comfortable on the plant floor as in a spreadsheet.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must wear proper personal protection equipment while on manufacturing floor.
  • Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for an extended period of time.
  • Ability to stand stationary, as needed
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds
  • Must be able to work in an office with others nearby
  • Ability to work 40+ hours/week

Pay Range: $100,000 - $120,000 per hour
