Our client, a global manufacturing organization, is seeking a Plant Controller to serve as the senior finance leader for one of its manufacturing facilities. This individual will partner closely with plant leadership and corporate finance to oversee all financial activities for the facility, provide operational financial support, and help drive continuous improvement across the business.
This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, inventory accounting, capital spending analysis, internal controls, and business performance analysis. The Plant Controller will serve as a key member of the plant leadership team and provide financial guidance that supports operational and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all plant accounting and financial reporting activities, ensuring accurate and timely month-end close.
- Analyze operating results, manufacturing variances, and key performance indicators while providing recommendations to improve profitability and operational performance.
- Develop annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
- Oversee inventory accounting, standard cost maintenance, and inventory control processes.
- Review capital expenditures, monitor capital projects, and ensure proper asset capitalization.
- Partner with operations, engineering, supply chain, and leadership teams to improve financial performance and support business initiatives.
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with company accounting policies and applicable financial reporting standards.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Supervise a small accounting team while mentoring and developing staff.
- Participate on cross-functional leadership teams and provide financial support for strategic projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Approximately 8-10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Previous Controller, Assistant Controller, Plant Controller, or Accounting Manager experience.
