Full Job Description
About the Role
We are hiring a Controller to own the financial infrastructure of the company, lead diligence and integration on every acquisition, and give the CEO and investors a clear, credible view of the numbers. Your job is to own the financial engine above that: build the systems, run the close and reporting cadence, drive the M&A financial work, and tell the story behind the numbers.

Pixis' back-end systems are currently integrated with its parent company. A central early priority is standing Pixis up as a fully independent finance and operations function with its own payroll, benefits, expense management, and controls, while keeping the trains running. You will be the person who builds that independence.

What You Will Do:

Financial Operations & Controllership
  • Own the monthly close and the monthly reporting package.
  • Oversee AP, AR, cash management, payroll, and revenue recognition, partnering with our outsourced accounting professional who handles much of the transactional work. Own the controls and review, not just the data entry.
  • Maintain accurate financial statements and management reporting, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and job-level profitability by show.
  • Ensure disciplined, GAAP-compliant accounting and audit readiness as the company prepares for its next stage of financing.

Systems & Independence from RedPeg
  • Make Pixis a standalone finance and operations function, separating shared back-end systems currently integrated with its parent company.
  • Implement and administer the systems Pixis needs: payroll, expense and corporate card management, employee health insurance and benefits, and banking.
  • Own NetSuite as the ERP of record, where the financials currently live, configuring it for multi-entity scale and actionable entries.
  • Recommend and implement the tools, processes, and controls that let finance scale with the platform.

M&A Diligence & Integration
  • Review target financials during diligence. Spot the issues, quantify them, and refine the books where needed.
  • Support quality-of-earnings analysis, working capital normalization, and deal-model inputs.
  • Consolidate acquired companies post-close. Stand up and maintain multi-entity reporting across the platform.
  • Own the accounting integration playbook so each acquisition folds in cleanly and consistently.

FP&A, Tax & Compliance
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management, both for investors and the bank. Plan for growth, protect runway, and support capital strategy.
  • Track the KPIs and unit economics that matter, identify trends, and translate the numbers into a clear story for the CEO, ELT, board, and investors.
  • Coordinate federal, state, and local tax filings for a C-Corp structure and manage relationships with external tax counsel and auditors.
  • Own compliance and risk-insurance, entity and regulatory requirements, and internal controls. This is a high-compliance environment and rigor is non-negotiable.

Investor & Vendor Relationships
  • Prepare investor reporting and support fundraising-decks, models, scenario planning-and present financial results and projections directly to investors.
  • Manage key vendor and contractor relationships typical of the controllership-onboarding, contracts, and performance-and be the finance partner to operations.
  • Bring clarity to financial questions before they become problems.

What You Bring:

Required
  • CPA.
  • 8-10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including direct experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller at a small to mid-sized company.
  • Hands-on M&A experience including financial due diligence and post-merger integration.
  • Strong technical accounting fundamentals, with demonstrated experience in multi-entity reporting and consolidations.
  • C-Corp tax experience and strong compliance discipline.
  • Deep ERP experience. NetSuite strongly preferred, given the financials already live there.
  • FP&A capability. You can build the forecast and explain what it means.
  • A hands-on builder. You stand up the systems and the close yourself; you do not just supervise them.

Preferred
  • Big Four or national accounting firm foundation, followed by operating experience.
  • Experience leading all finance systems, including payroll, benefits, and expense management for a newly-independent or carve-out entity.
  • Experience preparing a company for audit, institutional financing, or a public offering.
  • Experience presenting to and communicating with institutional investors.
  • Experience scaling a business from startup through high growth.

About You
The pace at Pixis is fast. The CEO is a builder who has been building for 30 years and isn't slowing down. This Controller needs to keep up, bring sharp thinking, and operate with minimal direction. We are looking for someone ambitious, resilient, and bright. Someone who can hold ten things in the air at once, and who wants to work closely with the CEO.

Why This Role
  • Build the finance function from the ground up - the close, the reporting, the systems, and the M&A engine that fuels the platform.
  • Direct work with the CEO and real influence on how Pixis grows and deploys capital.
  • Pixis produces work that lands at the Super Bowl, the NBA Draft, on Monday Night Football, and for clients like Netflix and F1. Few finance roles sit inside a company doing this kind of work.
  • Real scope at a rapidly-growing company small enough that what you build matters.
